    Hello All,

So I have been nerding out on a Four WHeel campers and shells in general and can't seem to find anyone who as tackled this. I am looking to do something similar to the picture below but wanted some feedback. My idea is to take an old FWC strip it to the frame and cut the bottom off and make it bolt to the bed rails just like a regular camper shell. Anybody have thoughts on this. I figure this will allow for me to leave it on and use the back as I normally do so I can still have a camper shell and then a load with gear for when i want to camp. Evanutally all my camp kitchen etc will be build into off road rear bumper/swing away.[IMG]
    Thanks for any help

I am emailing some local custom cab builder to see what they think... Also thinking of adding a lumber rack externally to hide the top portion more. I also contact the builder of this one and Phoenix campers although they just quoted me $15K . I might have to have the camp and top built separatley. The whole point is to still have a shell that is usable for everyday use, not have it look like troll dung and keep the weight down. I plan on getting an offroad bumper with a swing arm to house the spare, a camp kitchen box and table, with the swing arm being removable for everyday use.

    Sub'd
Have you considered an ARE construction cap and then have a fab shop build you the clam shell for the top and a boat upholstery place build you the tent part?
I'd guess the cap would be $2,000 and the custom work be about $3,000-$4,500.
