Still waiting for a call from the surgical doc.

Looks like a FD doc has become involved now, hopefully some action soon.

Still in some pain, but so doped up its not funny. He can get out of bed, and has been up wandering around.

Monday morning I'd taking to him to Scottsdale for his surgery.

    Thanks everyone.

That right there is the biggest injury/medical leave/early retirement problem with Fire and EMS. We have to lift so many fat asses and crawl around on our hands and knees and we get jacked. I hope the surgery helps him man. 99% of the time it does. He'll be jacked up for a while afterward, but he'll be almost like new when he heals. Best of luck man. My prayers are with your dad and your family.

Sorry didn't see this sooner, hope things go well.

Back problems suck. In Iraq I broke a lower disc and have herniated discs between my shoulder blades.

Make your Dad behave himself. Alot of back problems get better if you leave them alone for a while and take your meds to reduce the inflammation. When I do something to 'piss my back off' it lets me know that it's in charge, not me. I don't need surgery just yet, but could easily be in that boat someday.

my dad actually at the same problem. so much back paint hey put him on sooo much meds. he wouldnt even be able to talk sometimes it would be so bad cause he wanted to get rid of the pain.

one day came home and found him unconscious in a chair and hit him as hard as i could in the arm and all he did was strain his mouth it was the worst experience had to call ambulance and get him to the hospital.

just keep an eye out on him. those meds are killers

I came home from work this morning at 5, and we left at 5:15 for the hospital. I stayed with him until shortly before they gassed him out. He kept pestering me to go home and get some sleep.

Just woke up to a call from the surgeon, says dads surgery went smooth and as planned. Encountered nothing problematic, and he should be waking up soon.

I'm heading back to the hospital now.

Thanks everyone for the thoughts and prayers.
