    Update.

His back is all healed, and was given the green light to go back to work.

He really missed the firehouse, and being with his crew.

Today, he was told this is his last shift as they are sidelining him and he will be getting a medical retirement due as a result of a nuclear stress test he did a few weeks ago. Reason being apparently there is some heart damage he recieved AFTER his heart attack 2 years ago. His thinking is maybe he had a silent heart attack recently.

Either way, I'm headed over to his station now to see him there for the last time.

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
Great to hear about the recovery, sad about the forced retirement. But all things happen for a reason I suppose. Thank your Dad for his public servitude for me B.

Tell him the boys at the LAFD is proud of his service. I'm glad that he's doing fine! More time to spend with the family. A brother, will always be a brother. From a firefighter to another, a fond salute to a hero.

OK, not sure how I missed this thread but glad your dad is feelin better, hope he adjusts to retirement. More time to do stuff together. Pack it in as much as you can. Lost mine in 96 without warning, lots of regrets about time mispent prior to it. Sucks to this day.
