In case anyone wants to know how balanced our trucks are and how much they actually weight, here you go.upload_2018-11-18_11-40-22.jpg
1410kg is 3108 lbs, with an almost 50/50 weight distribution. This is just a base line for anyone interested. I took this reading from my extended cab, 2.4l, manual, Sr5, with a full tank of fuel and w/o driver weight.
Basically these little guys are light and balanced.

Wonder what my lifted double cab v6 weight distribution is being heavier in the front and longer. Hmm...

Double cab same length as extended cab, but definitely heavier and more balanced than a 4wd extended cab.

This is cool, and good info to know. I wonder how much weight the 4x4 and v6 options add :notsure:

Well if anyone is close to the Raleigh NC area, I’d be interest in weighing one of them also. I think this is fantastic info a specialty if you’re planing on doing any suspension modifications.
I personally am looking into lowering my Taco even more and potentially autocrossing it. So this great so I don’t make it too nose heavy or throw off my cross weight to much. But feel like this could be super valuable for lifted guys and having proper spring rates and stability.

How much are you lowered now? How does it ride with the 18s? I'm on stock 14s with 20 year old suspension and I feel every little bump. I can't imagine what it rides like with that tiny sidewall! Rebuild and lowering is in the future though!

Edit: It looks like the tires are 225/45R18. That looks pretty close to the same tire height as my stock 14s - around 26" right? Any issues with rubbing?

No I have zero issues with rubbing. I can still go another inch or 1 1/2 down without rubbing. I actually bought the truck with Djm upper control arms, 4 inch drop blocks and and the front ball joint flip already done, along with a different set of wheels “that I wasn’t a big fan of” which were 16’s and rubbed constantly cause the tires were too tall and they had an offset of 10.

Sadly all the suspension components are pretty worn and I’ve been replacing things as I go along. So I can’t be a good representation of ride quality. I only weighed the truck cause I just replaced my upper control arm bushings, and rack bushings and just did my alignment.

Whenever I go to the rock and dirt place to get some dirt I have to pull onto the scale. It weighs 3980 pounds with a full tank of gas and with nobody in it.

It is a 1998 TRD, 2-door, extended cab, V-6, A/C, standard transmission, no ABS, and a shell on the back. Tires are Michelins of whatever size the truck came with when new.

Thanks man! Sorry, I didn't mean to get the thread off track! Now back to the topic.

So our trucks weigh less than a Corvette. Cool! Just need to do something to increase the lb/hp ratio!
