Counting raw lumens is a really caveman way to measure directional light output. It's a theoretical number based on the listed chip spec multiplied by the amount of chips. Companies use it to pump up their product (10,000 LUMENS OF PURE LIGHT POWER) and it doesn't mean much, nor tell you anything about how the light performs.

The SSC2 pro and S2 pro use the same 10W Cree XPL chips so they have the same raw lumens. However the TIR optics in the SSC2 are much more advanced than the cone reflectors in the S2. The result is that there is much less wasted light (spill or glare) from the SSC2- allowing the intended patterns to be more effective.

Please be sure to pay attention to the patterns and how you intend to use them, as they are just as important to making your decision.

I'll be testing them heads up soon. Using road tests as well as a light meter

They're Badass... Just gonna start there lol.

Where is everyone planning to install these? Reverse lights ? Is there a mounting kit for any bumper brackets or anything for the 2nd gen Tacoma. ? I have a set of the amber ss3 sport fogs and love the DD brand. Just wondering where would be the most practical space for these lights as I’m sure I have to have them lol

Is it because these are smaller than the SS3 pods for the ditch location ? i'd love some kind of reverse mounting solution for the 2nd gen 05-11 models perhaps off the bumper hitch area without having to flush mount them. hadn't really considered ditch lights b/c i'm not an offroader, but i'm sure I MUST have these lights in some fashion lol for ditch what color backlighting would u do ? amber i'm guessiing ? I was gonna go with the red for reverse since they could be used as additional marker lights for visibility

I could see these going all over my truck. Already want a set of the Pro SAE/DOT High beam Supplements in the front. Could see 1-2 Sports on each side for flood lighting and possibly even 2-4 Sports in back as impromptu chase lights with a red/amber mix (and then a bucket load of flood when backing up).

Still want SS3's for my ditch lights and Fogs.

I would anticipate that you could expect something around Black Friday :D

Nothing in the near term on the docket. However, these are already competitively priced for the awesomeness you're getting!

Anything that would be a good match with the BAMF behind the grill bar mount? Pods, not a light bar

I like your train of thought! I'm somewhere between 4 or 5 pairs when I'm done. Hopefully will know more soon.
