I don't know if anyone else has experience this rattle but I thought I should share my findings. After a week of driving my truck I noticed that on rough street I had a rattle in the rear (driver's side) I heard it very close to the door because my truck is a regular cab, I did not pay much attention to it because I don't mind some rattle, like others say its a truck, but I always thought it was the inner fender that is closest to the door, to my surprise today I found out it was something really really really dumb, Its the fuel door!!!! If you have a rattle like this check if the fuel door has a little play or try driving around with the fuel door open to see if the rattle goes away. Anyways I hope this helps someone. :D

good find! My fuel door 'lock' tab has spread apart before so It wouldn't lock when I closed it... it would keep popping open when I went down the road haha. Damn flimsy doors.

    Nice find!
Mine doesn't rattle because its rubbing on the bottom hinge.
They are known for breaking off
Mine was so hard to open & someone here told me about the hinges snapping over time so I try to be careful when I fill up & put grease on the pins.

There are 2 little rubber stoppers that are in the door. Maybe they're missing and that's causing the rattle. I knocked one out the other day gassing up. Popped it right back in....but obviously they don't stay in there very well.

Mine still has the stopper, but I'll be careful if these come off easily.
To fix the rattle I placed a foam tape in the hinge, here is a pic:
