They aren't deep enough to fit under the plastic moulding.

If they were 3" shorter they wouldn't have any issue with fitment. Can't go any further forward because of the front upward curve of the sill.

I understand now the sill drops slightly and leaves the DSP hanging.

What happened to the end of the DSP in that one pic? Looks like you hit it with a hammer or something.

If you think cutting 3" off will do the trick you can cut them with a chop saw and touch up the ends or place them on a 2x4 and cut them with a hack saw or sawzall then touch them up.

Thanks! I'll try using a rubber mallet to customize the fit. If that doesn't work, then chop 3" off. That one end is how it came out of the package. Haven't hit it with anything yet. :) I really love the look of these and want them to work.

    Was the package damaged?

Sorry but I never send pieces looking like that.

Looks like the picture is showing a reflection of light. There are no defects. I went to the garage to check them over, and all ends are nicely blacked and no scuffs. It was packaged very well.

I just installed the set i ordered over the winter, I have the same gap problem as you. I also have a access cab, tried hitting it with a rubber mallet but it didn’t do much. it doesn’t really bother me because these offer much better protection!

So it looks like this is occurring on the 2014 models.

Exactly what length do you guys think these should be?

I like the length that it is. I was already starting to wear the paint off my sill at 6000 miles (big feet heavy boots lol) you can really only see the gap if you get on your knee’s and your looking for it. It doesn't bother me i would much rather have the protection.

How about some pics of the gap Zach, maybe I can do some tweaking for a better fit on the next ones.

Ok so I have the new design for the 2014 AC front doors I just need a measurement. I need to know exactly where the transition or dip will be at the end of the sill protector.

    3" from the end?

I guess the real question is, should these be cut 3" shorter or should they be modified to fit the little transition? Is there a need to protect that area near the door latch?

    Thanks!

I'm not sure how they look exactly but in my preference when I go to buy these I'd want the full length of the door sil or most of it covered u have a 2014 dclb and am worried about the weird doors as well maybe bend them? Do you need a test truck? I will do what I can to help you out so they can work for everybody's truck don't want TW mad at you

What weird doors? I've sent a lot of these to 2014 DC owners and no complaints.

Shoot me a pic of what your concerns are please. Thanks

After looking at this again I'm seeing you have the level sitting on top of the eom rubber sill protectors, and the diamond plate sill protector is also sitting on the oem protector. These need to be removed before installing the new ones.

So the bent doors are only on the AC? I read all the posts about not fitting correctly in the door sill

2014 AC only so far. Possibly 2015 also, we'll see.

I already have the new design which is a minor change.

I know this. I removed them. I was only checking fitment before peeling them off and installing the G Tek Fab DSPs. :)

Here's the final fit in my 2014 Access Cab after manipulating the back end with a rubber mallet before install.
