Got my G4 Elite Fold a Cover for my 3rd Gen DCLB today in the mail. First of many things planned.

Fit, finish, instructions are great. Installation was simple. One complaint is one of the threads on the aluminum bracket that mounts in the middle of the cover stripped while I was torquing it down. Instructions stated 70 lbs and the aluminum threads gave way prior to hitting the 70 lbs on that one screw. Its barely in there and any further tightening only makes it looser.

Perhaps I just got a bad bracket / threads on that one. Either way I have emailed Steffens Automotive (Fold A Cover) for a replacement and we will see how good they are in the warranty dept.

Thanks to TW for putting me onto this locking tonneau cover and I'm pretty sure I got one of the first (6th to be exact) of the G4 Elite covers that have shipped out for the new 3rd Gen's.

If anyone has any questions I'd be happy to try and answer them for you.

Thanks for the write up - please report back on if it is watertight.

I have one of these G4 Elites as well and can say they are not 100% water tight; nor does Foldacover state they are water tight. I had an email conversation with their support group confirming this and they were extremely helpful and informative.

I can say though the G4 Elite is pretty darn close.

There are small gaps at the front corners due to the seal needing to be inset 1/2" per the instructions and very slight gaps in the back corners but overall great bed protection.

I'm hoping to put in place a piece of flat wiper seal, like those used around RV slide outs to cover up these gaps without impeding the open/close/locking functionality.

    Fingers crossed!

If someone has come up with a better solution, please share.
