Yeah they make great holsters. I have one for my shield. Black Point Tactical is local and also makes great stuff. This point break holster is purely for the entertainment value and to accommodate the light. Probably going to get it b/c it will make me chuckle everytime I see it haha.

Therein lies the problem...which is sad it's not a more popular option.

Seems like you could secure it with different size nuts on each bolt. That would piss off a thief. Have one of them be an 8mm and another be 19mm. Of course, just make them all 10mm since no once can ever find their 10mm socket. But seriously, what about different kind of bits, like security bits? Of course, a cutoff wheel doesn't care what size bolts....but seems like you could do some security fasteners at least.

...Or just go hard shell taco and sleep in the bed! No one is stealing my camping gear.

I think my topper costs a bit more than an RTT though. :anonymous:

Aren't you also a long bed though? I mean...I know we all sleep in the fetal position anyway, but them tall folks might not be able to stretch out comfortably in a shortbed...

Yea, DCLB. The hatch on the back adds 4" length inside, so it's plenty long for me at 5'10".

I love the DCLB, but the Chocco ride this last weekend really showed its limits. People say tight turning is the issue with DCLB... It's not, clearance is. I can back up and do a 10 point turn, my approach angle is good, my departure angle is good, but the wheelbase is so long I just get hung up on stuff that's no problem for a 14' long 1st gen (my truck is 20' long) or a Jeep with literally half the wheelbase. A couple of pages back I talked about Boat Ramp being impassible... It doesn't look that bad from the pics, but there was no way with my clearance to approach this:

    AKY9KUN.jpg

It's hard to tell depth from the picture. Every orange arrow is a rock that I could get on, but would have high centered on. They're all 2'x2'x2' or bigger. The long arrow up top is a 2-3' shelf, I wouldn't even have gotten to the passenger door before hanging on it.

    AKY9KUN1.jpg

On the plus side, it tows great, is 10/10 stable on the highway, has tons of cargo room, and I can camp in it.

I think I'd do the DCLB again for the pluses, but it's not all good.

And once you get over those ledges, you'll spin on that wet rock! I've seen a lot of folks get over the ledges, just to not make it up that rock face. They ended up backing down, over the ledges!

You're truck is set up real nice though! One of the nicer 3rd gens I've seen!

Yeah man what @cubie said. I saw your truck at the March get together. You're above and beyond equipped for adventure, it's a great rig. Only a very small minority of owners equip a rig for crawling like what you're showing in that pic.

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!

Not answering the phone is a bad sign in my book. I'd look elsewhere.

I'll ask my cousin who did his gears. I think he said they were in the Norcross area.

My buddies gave me a quote and it was insane. I have to look elsewhere.

Hey JB. Give my buddy Mike a call over at Quality Transmission. I know it's in Gadsden, AL, but he's been in the transmission business for 40 years and he was the one that put my new clutch in my 2nd gen. He does re-gears too. He told me to tell you to give him a buzz. Maybe he can offer you something that's worth driving over here to get it done.

What about 4wp? I know we've all heard horror stories about them, but it sounded like @KaptainH had a good experience and got their lifetime warranty. So even if they do screw it up, you get new parts with no questions asked.

    @KaptainH did.

And I was WAY off about it being Norcross, but I just forwarded you the text from my cousin. He had gears installed in his Chevy at Rylee's 4 Wheel Drive
