All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
Save for what. You ain’t got no kids ;)

I’ll throw down on a set when I am ready and my Fox setup is past its prime.
Must say I have been pleased with my Foxs after I picked up that leaf pack from West. Smooth as butter, and even with all my heavy shit I am not hitting bump stops.
I have fully articulated all that the pro has to offer and I am able to stuff at full lock with no rub on those pizza cutters.
Shit was made for each other. With the 33” I can creep over enough stuff. I will be a second before I get crazy with the Taco.

My man, looking forward to the field report!

Having had to use the King customer service I’m indifferent since they put up a bit of a fight to warranty a shock. However after all of that is behind me, I don’t think I could be happier with the setup for bombing down the trails and on road handling characteristics. Plus one for JBA’s too. Alignment shop had no issues getting everything to track straight and Martin’s customer service is top notch.

There is a 170+ page thread about them with many comparisons to Kings. Also, The valving is a bit different and the components are top notch.

I am going through Headstong's group buy. I was looking a 6112/5160s and the Kobinsons kit, but with the group buy pricing, the difference in 6112s/Dobinsons and the ADS kit is closer than you would think for a vastly higher end setup. Not to mention that it is extended travel and remote resi on all 4 shocks.

:bananadance:I think I got SPC on the FJ. It came with that Radflo lift with SPCs. Has super flexy springs in the rear. That truck has serious droop in the rear!

Yeah, but after 30-50K of abuse on a OMEs, Bilstiens or Dobinsons you will be ready to replace/upgrade as well

    I can't wait either!

How is your setup just rolling down the road. I have had a plush Icon and Fox setup. How is your Kings just rolling down the road, when your not bombing?

Road manners are excellent. I run the adjusters at 4 clicks and it provides a good balance between firm and controlled in the corners while being very compliant on the typical expansion joints and pots that we are plagued with down here.
Comparing to the OR suspension the nose dive has been completely eliminated along with the abnormal rebound experienced entering and exiting a curve.

Good to hear man. You gonna log your trip via some App this go around. I need to do this. I have found some sweet little spots, and haven’t been recording my waypoints.

Spot on. If anyone is even remotely looking at any performance coilover; King, ADS, Icon, Radflo, Bilstein, etc., rebuild rates need to be considered. And as you mentioned, most rebuild intervals mirror the optimal functional lifespan of a non-rebuildable setup (OME, Billy 5100/6112, etc.). Selfishly I'd be curious to hear what the group buy quote is you got for the setup you mentioned. I am in no position to be putting any money towards non-necessity truck toys, just curious. Shoot me a PM if you don't mind. If you'd rather not, no biggie

On the UCA topic again. I'm kinda with @CowboyTaco on the SPC front. I personally had good experience with a set of their 1st gen UCA, until it literally snapped o_O No matter what design changes they've made, I'll be looking elsewhere.
I tend to not be fan of the uniball UCA for our SE environment, and the maintenance that I've read goes with them. I'd lean more towards the JBA as it seems to be a good bang for the buck, although I hate that it only comes in red. Those billet Icons are muy bueno, but at that price point I'd spring for the Camburg billet variety. They are straight sex. The regular tubular Icon with the delta joint would be a slightly cheaper option than the billet ones.

    PM Sent.

On UCAs: I am extremely sensitive to noises and ride changes. I want to remain as close to factory as possible. I might look into the delta joints.

    +1 for King’s and jba

Have thought about swapping out to ads for remote resi and clickers on all 4 corners.

Jba did have problems with spacing on the 1st gens. Not sure if it was on other gens as well but I believe it’s been fixed with shims, mine fit pretty snug.

Shot of grease on everything every once in a while, no uniball squeak and Still gets plenty of travel. Doesn’t hit my shocks either when theyre drooped.

Not saying you have to have them immediately I took it easy for a while before I got the ucas. Wouldn’t want something to take stress that wasn’t meant to in the first place

Thanks for mentioning that as I should add to my previous comment.

Running extended travel c/o with stock UCA will put added stress on the ball joint. This likely won’t result in immediate failure, but certainly a weak point to be aware of should one decide to run that configuration for any amount of time.

The coilovers can be rebuilt which makes them a little bit superior to the typical Bilsteins etc. But I haven't needed to rebuild mine yet but would be down to learn ha

Just looked up that place. No alcohol on the premises so I'll never be going there haha. Plus AOP is closer and Windrock is the same distance from me
