That’s what about happened to me. I dodged it by upping my down payment way above normal so that the credit unions would approve me. Used the credit union rates as a bargaining chip against Ford Credit.

Like the other guys said, don’t be scared of the debt since you have enough to pay the truck off tomorrow if you had to. You may have to play the game I did of using a fair amount of that cash to raise your down payment enough to get approved by the credit union though, since you’re also young.

 

No, we drove by it though. The water level was very low. The roads had just been graded too. It took some effort to find some dips and ruts.

Super bad accident this weekend at ADS apparently! Super unfortunate situation all the way around... hopefully he has a speedy recovery.



Should I wait for the dust to settle to order ADS or see if Headstrong will still honor the GB pricing and get Kings?

 

I'd wait, personally. You already have a suspension that is working. Otherwise, see if they can honor the deal on the Kings.

 

Ooo that's a tough one. ADS is top notch but how long are you willing to wait I guess is the question. If it was me, I'd just wait for ADS since you already have a decent setup

 

Both very valid points. I’ll definitely have to decide on a solution to lift the front of the truck .5-1” for the time being to help clear the 285’s, whether it be the 886 or top hat spacers.

 

So another topic I'll bring up for discussion. Spark Plugs. Did you know there is a market for conterfeit spark plugs? Neither did I. Not saying that I'm the victim, but I am concerned that I might be.

I posted the deal up when I found it. I think @Built2Ride might have ordered a set as well. Josh, you might want to inspect yours. If they are bad. I sincerely apologize for posting the deal.

 

I have 2 of the lean correction spacers for the OME shocks. Free if you want them.

 

i appreciate it! I already have the lean spacer, I’ll likely just cut some .25” spacers if that’s what I do.

Just realized Wheelers sale is still going on today. The same King setup through the HS GB is actually an additional $230 off with the current Wheelers sale, putting extended, resi’s, and clickers setup at $2580 to my front door. Tempting. This is also significantly cheaper than the similar ADS setup.

 

Any of yall wanna come over and ride at Chocco this Saturday? I had a lot of fun riding with @synaps3 and his family, when he came over! The only GA dude I've met so far. @Built2Ride was supposed to come too, but didn't

 

Plus, there's a couple of guys here that want to climb Big John, a local place to me, not far from Chocco. I'd rate it at least a blue or a black. I'm gonna take whoever wants to go, over to this trail system to try and tackle the monster hill climb!

I may be misreading the email from HS, but are they willing to honor the GB pricing for you later? Doesn’t seem that way to me, or how I’m reading that email you posted.

If that’s the case, and you aren’t just dead set on ADS, get the Kings from wheelers. I’m not going to get into any debates about ADS vs Kings. But I think we all would agree that Kings are nothing to frown at.

 

Why would you want to counterfeit sparkplugs? I did get a set too, I'll guess I'll go home and inspect. What would be the down side of running them?

 

I'd love to, but we are booked this weekend. Next weekend is my company's Christmas party. Then we have the weekend before Christmas.

 

Obvious answer is to make money. I wish there was more recourse against the seller. IF they are fakes, they are good ones.

I ordered a set from Advance Auto Parts since they are doing 25% off orders right now. Came to $23.06 after tax. My order for the Ebay ones was $17 and some change. So I potentially saved $6, but potentially threw away $17. I'll compare them when I get home tonight.

As for the downside of running them.... Best case scenario, you don't notice a difference. I've read some people say that their gas mileage isn't as good as they expected with OEM plugs. I don't think they are going to cause the engine to detonate or develop a knock or anything like that. So I'm thinking worst case scenario, the plug breaks and leaves the threads in the cylinder; however, that should be avoided by putting anti-seize on the threads. Short answer: I don't know.

I've also contacted the seller. I'll let you know if/when they reply.

Didn't read the thread but.. Cheap shit is cheap shit. Say the tip breaks off and falls into the cylinder head and or cylinder. Say they break off when you go to remove them, they foul out when you're in the middle of nowhere...

Unfortunately I've been literally burned by cheap Chinese junk. And I recall telling myself "it looks just like the regular seat heaters, what could go wrong." After losing thousands of dollars, I learned that there's a time and place for crap. Cliffs notes, China seat heaters got left on for extended period of time and either temperature or electrical fault burnt the truck to the ground and I was at 12k ft in the snow, no moon in blizzard conditions. Saving $50... Not worth it.
