All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
Have a ball bro, we are rolling to Highland Park this weekend. This XL rider doesn’t get phased by the cold, only makes it better! I will be watching my skinny friends shake like tiny saplings lol

Right on. About 9 of us went up to NGa around Hawk Mtn, and were riding some kickass trails. We found some knarly little single track, and of course the ranger base (we past a group decked out marching up the mtn).
That’s a cool little area up there, would be a nice place to buy a piece if land while its cheap.

Anyone know if there's a decent butcher in North Atlanta/Marietta area that sells or can get elk meat?

There's a lot of places online and the prices kinda suck, then you go to checkout and shipping doubles the price

Might try Block N Blade. Elk is not listed on their website, but they might be able to point you in the right direction if they can't get it.

Yeah, unfortunately a change from having it roaming in the backyard... With plenty of its relatives stocking the freezers.

They were usually the only traffic i had to deal with. This herd was ~3-400 ish strong and hung out in the valley most of the time.

There is a lodge in Tennessee that does guided hunts where u can kill elk, but you still have to find a way to bring it home

Anyone want to help me install my prinsu rack onto my topper this weekend?

In other news I also got a 2014 steering wheel!

What is the best battery I can buy for my tacoma?
I have been researching but most are just debates on how terrible optima batteries are.

What are you looking to get out of it? Just use as a regular battery to start the truck?

Run winch, fridge and lights while truck is on or off, other accessories while on or off? Any plans or needs for dual batteries?

I'm no electrical genius, but those will help those who are.

I upgraded and ran single deep cycle agm battery (group 35 deka? iirc) with 100w solar with lights, water pump, comms, winch, 24/7 fridge/freezer and it worked well.

Thought about running dual batteries, but that will be a future mod if necessary. Although I do run bed lights, scene light, and light bar regularly.

Any of those primarily when the truck isn't running? And or how many watts and how long when truck is off? Mainly want to make sure you won't be drawing down the juice while the truck is off, or have enough reserves to be able to run them.

The Scene light and bed lights both run for around 10 minutes with the truck off. I’m not sure the wattage they require to run but it’s only a couple days a week I do that.

Upgrading to a group 27 battery will give you more cold cranking amps and amp hours.

If you are going to run stuff like a fridge or lights when the truck is off, going with an AGM battery is a good idea. If not, a traditional battery will be fine.

The best deal for a traditional battery is Costco. They sell interstate with a 3 year free replacement warranty and the prices are reasonable. I think a group 27 is about $80 bucks.

If you want an AGM, I like the X2 Power brand from batteries plus. They are made by Northstar with a 60 MO free replacement and can be exchanged at any batteries plus if you have an issue. They run close to 300 but there are usually some deals.

it looks like they have 10% off if you buy online and PU in store + a $30 rebate.

Due to the size of the 27, you may need to extend one of your terminals.

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
    x2 for the X2
I got a few of these in trucks, this is the Battery to purchase hands down. Optima used to be good and then they got cheap.
I also have a couple Odyssey batteries in my Landcruiser, which are also nice.
I would get the x2 with the extra set of Terminals on it. Makes hooking things up easier.

They make a 27 and 27F. I cant remember which one I have, but one has reversed terminals. I can check later.
