Don’t the AGM batteries require higher charging? I feel like I remember reading a thread awhile back about how it’s recommended to use an alternator booster if upgrading to AGM. Something like how the standard batteries use 13.1V charging and AGM uses 14.4V

Maybe it was covered here and I’m just an idiot. Haha.

That is correct. There was supposed to be a deal that you install that would bump up the voltage to the battery.

Funny you posted this. My wife is getting a new phone for xmas so we were loading all her old pics on our computer and looking through them and there were quite a few of the CO traffic jams pics with 100's of elk. Some of our front yard as the herd would move down the mountain to the road. My cousins live in Denver now and tell me about their "outdoorness" but I keep telling them, if they want to experience nature on a daily basis, they need to move out of Denver and up to the hills.

Good deal; I just figured with the talk of folks going to AGM, the alt booster thing should be mentioned. My Taco is still running standard, but I’ve considered going to AGM for the stability. My F150, my dad’s S80, and my mom’s Highlander all run AGM currently.

Me and my wife are moving downtown, gotta get out of the suburbs and this shitty 1+ hour per direction commute.

That said, I have a workshop full of shit and I need to clear it out. How do y'all sell used stuff nowadays? Craigslist? I heard people use Facebook, but I don't have one. Any other sites?

It's mostly tools, electronics, some truck stuff.

Estate sale if you have alot of stuff. Selling individually will take a long time and effort. Hopefully an estate sale will get rid of the bulk. Just my .02

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
Best way to let stuff go is a buddy sale.
Get a list together of what you got.
    Let’s us know.

I need a nice Vice, Drill Press, Band Saw, Cutoff Wheel, bench grinder.

As for batteries, I'm currently running a Group 34 AGM battery as my starter.

I had the AGM as the secondary battery in the 4Runner. When we sold it, I pulled every mod that I could from it, including the dual battery setup. Shortly thereafter, the main battery in my Tacoma died. I spoke to my cousin who is an electrician and we compared the numbers and he said that he would recommend the Group 34. It has higher CCA and a longer reserve. It's been in there for nearly a year and had no issues charging. Point being: don't be scared of the AGM.

Don't even HAVE to move out, just get outside!

I only spent 5'ish years in CO, but spent as much time as i could on lesser traveled roads in co/wy/ut. We created BDR type routes where it might take 4x as long but you never touched pavement, you might have to figure a way around a massive washout, find a route that actually works, stumble upon legit mountain men or illegal activity type stuff etc.

And then people couldn't understand why I'd seen countless elk and moose and other critters up close. Just have to get out there and look, they usually won't come to you! I was a tour guide of sorts for friends going to Yellowstone a month or so ago and they were tired as hell from riding around for hours in the truck, but they saw the usual suspects as well as wolves and a grizzly up close and personal as well as other hidden gems you won't find in a book nor see from the main tourist routes.

Yeah, let us know what you got. Nothing easier than a local sale with another TW member. You never know who might be needing what.

    Dig me some handmade gifts.

Unfortunately, this year hasn’t allowed for much time to build/create.

Here are some past year samples for the wife.

Cutting board made from black walnut and white oak from my families lake cabin. I really need to oil it...

Live edge changing table and floating shelves for the nursery at our house. Made from black cherry, again from the family lake cabin.
