All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
    Did you flop your taco?

We pushed it back over, winched it back onto 4 tires, and I drove it an hour and a half home. Only in a Yota!

Yep, it looks bad in the pictures, and pictures never tell the real story.

Those steps aren't too bad, but you do need to stay on line and know your vehicle... 150 pounds on the roof makes a hell of a difference when you're off camber and dropping down steps. Jab the brake, and voila.

When I did it, this lightly modified wrangler cruised down that section with enough speed that he was almost jumping down the steps. Clearly he had done it plenty of times and with a cute little wrangler it's easy, but leaving no room for error...probably not the best bet.

This guy rolled the first time I was there, people get scared of the edges and stay too far away.

And the views are gorgeous so it's natural to want to look even if you're driving.

But these guys were sooo damn lucky to have lived.

Yep, I have seen that one. They were super lucky to not plunge 350-450’!

I'll check with my wife to see what we have going on this weekend. The hardest part is lifting the actual bumper up onto the bracket.

Yup, we were there and my XJ didn't have parking brakes and she was old...slop between switching gears and actually moving, and someone else was in the same position so we decided not to do it that day, but we would've been on the trail at the same time if we would've rolled over there.

Ole heifer made it down though, not recommended for such a long and low vehicle...18 tundra crewmax stock with Duratracs. Most corners were not too bad but low approach angle on switchback two was a pain in the ass with a large boulder exposed and dug out in the middle of the trail and steep angle and off camber.

But, Black Bear Pass is a hell of a lot easier than Morrison Jeep Trail! Again, driving the longest vehicle you should take up there.
