All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
That’s cool, I do like the look of that.

I don't need one, but I've been keeping an eye out for a good 55" or 58". Prefer to stick with Samsung or LG. Would love a SONY, but they are too pricey. Would also consider Visio if the price were right.

I'm not sure what your budget is, but if you could find a last year's model Sony, you likely wouldn't regret it. The x900 Bravia line is mindblowing. I'm not sure if they've come out with a an x900g yet, but you could find 55" x900f's for as low as $950 on Black Friday and I think x900e's were dropping down in the $800 range. You get nearly OLED quality picture at half the price. Samsung's budget lines are not very good, avoid if you can.

RTINGS is a very good, unbiased source for reviews. If you're wanting a TV that performs well, look for ones with FALD or "local dimming", one that has a wide color gamut, and good peak brightness.

Truth being completely told, at 55" the video quality difference between 1080p and 4k isn't THAT noticeable, but SDR video vs HDR video is a huge leap, so a panel with great color and peak brightness is really what you want to focus on.

All that being said, if you're just looking for a decent 4kTV and don't care much about performance, TCL and Visio are making some really quality stuff nowadays.

Man it was coming down real hard last night! I put in one serious drainage system, that dumps out onto a steep slopes rock garden I made off the low side of my house. Those 8” pipes were pumping water last night. Looked like I had a small creek rolling.
