Looks awesome man, glad you got a chance to check it out! How’d you like Hayley? Did you tackle the rock steps?

Looks like he took a gander down Hayley Rd. As long as it’s not wet you’ll be fine 2wd.

There are two camping areas there, one at Hunters Check Station and the other at Davis Pond. Neither are secluded and the former is pretty trashy. Davis Pond(pic below) is where I would stay if you wanted to camp there.

Keep in mind the whole park closes at sunset! That means zero travel in/out or inside the park past sunset. Ranger gave me a mouthful for this one last time I was there.

The Rainbow lake to Signal Mountain trail up there in Prentice is a great kid friendly day hike to some very nice overlook views.

That’s exactly what we did. Majority of the roads there are well graded and kept up. 4wd would not be needed unless weather conditions necessitate it or choosing a horrible line through the creek crossing.

They only allow camping in two places that we could find. Both of which looked sketchy and exposed to by passers. Currently trying to find better areas that allow more dispersed camping nearby.

We looked for the stair case at the begging of the day and finally found it on our ride out. We will definitely be returning to make an attempt at going up and down it. That end ledge looks tricky if a wrong line is chosen. I agree with your assessment on the place, nothing challenging (besides the stair case) but well worth a trip due to proximity and the amazing views.

Noted. Will definitely add this to our itinerary next trip up.

Considering that I’m at 3 inch lift With 35s 12.5 should I get wheels that have some negative offset? I like these MKs as well gonna get them 17x9 since I got the 12.5 wide tires

while were on the wheel talk, anyone know of a set of bronze methods or similar. Looking for 16 x 8. The method 305's I'm looking at hard are 0 offset and 4.5 bs I think.
    Basically these wheels:

Also considering the walker evens wheel in bronze but but just haven't seen enough pics of them on a tacoma to give me the green light

Those Walker Evans look very interesting. I haven't seen a pattern like that on a wheel before.

Any chance you like these https://www.kmcwheels.com/product/w...ribute_pa_finish=matte-bronze-matte-black-lip

Walker Evans is an old off road racer and that style of wheel has been around for over 10 years probably. Started as a beadlock only wheel. I've just always loved the wheel. The KMC's you posted look pretty good. Definitely a pretty good option I'll look more into. Thanks!

How about those flow formed Konig Countersteer or whatever they are. Pretty strong and light weight.

The light weight aspect is one of the more important to me, as my gas mileage seems to get worse every time I do a mod to the truck. :anonymous:

Why not do something to help it for a change.

FN wheels makes those I think. I'm a fan of FN wheels as I already have the FN FX Pros. Those are another good options. Thanks for the reminder.

It sounds like you already got this taken care of, but just throwing this out there. When we got our pup a few years ago she peed in the back seat of the wife's Escape. A cut-down solution of white vinegar and water will get the pee smell out in a pinch. It sounds counterintuitive since vinegar smells bad, but if you blot the area, douse with the water/vinegar mix, then flush with clean water it'll take care of the issue entirely. Blot as much as you can then park her in the sun with the windows cracked for the rest of the day. The vinegar is acidic enough to kill off the smell from the pee.

I hope this helps someone. Long story short went to hunting camp this weekend......it was 280 miles one way to south georgia.....by the time I got back to the house the truck was trashed from mainly Bugs. The side mirrors where covered in bugs..........so long story short I scraped them off with a running hose and fingernails. Well this scratched the crap out of the covering! So here's the fix! I rubbed amorall extreme tire shine on the mirror covers. Here's the process and results! I don't have a before pic but good lord I was amazed!

1.) I sprayed it on 3 fingers and rubbed it in on the mirror covering. ( I tried a cloth but it just smeared it)
2.) This shit takes like 9 hours to dry so don't plan on driving after you apply.
3.) Even the next day (after sitting in the garage) I still had to wipe off the residue. But you do have to let it soak so don't rub it off too early)
4.) Your results may vary and I'm not saying this will be successful for your application.

My mirrors were toast and now almost look new! This is only after day 1 though. Just an FYI.

I'm debating on SCS F5 vs Method 703. I prefer the Bronze on the F5 as it is a bit darker, but could go either way

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
I would most certainly go with the Method that has the bead grip technology, and I think the Methods look better on the runner.

Yea I read that somewhere while I was panicking lol. My detail guy came out and it had actually gone all the way through the seat and into the carpet under the seat. So far so good with the odor being gone. Time will tell.
