I got some fun wheeling in on some random trails I found in north georgia today. I know have a question though. A lot of the trucks on here look pristine clean even though the owners do use them off road. Even the underneath of the truck. What do people clean their trucks with?

Get a good electric pressure washer and a foam gun.

I wash with turtle wax "zip wax" (pick it up from walmart or wherever, its the big white bottle) using the 2 bucket method - you have a bucket for rinse and a bucket for soap. Put soap on the mitt in the soap bucket, clean the truck, rinse the mitt in the rinse bucket thoroughly, readd soap with soap bucket, repeat. I try to spray off all the mud and grime before doing the soap at all. If you don't, small rocks will scratch even if you're gentle.

Towel dry with an old towel then spray this stuff https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07NW9D8FG/ref=twister_B07VV874LH liberally, rubbing it in. It's amazing the amount of minor scratches that wax covers.

My undercarriage is like a mess, and my truck's only a few years old. There's nothing you can do to unbend or ungouge or unscratch. I just spray it clean with the hose. It's gross getting under there and spraying it all out, but necessary. From my experience so far, beach sand is THE WORST followed shortly after by Alabama mud. Our red clay doesn't get everywhere like the sand and doesn't stick as persistently as the Bama mud.

I touch up the sliders, skids, and bumpers yearly with bedliner. The bedliner holds up great. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0070S7U4Y/

Even with that, I still have scratches and dents that won't come out, especially my wheels, which are scratched to hell. Pics always make trucks look prettier than they are in person - I just drive it and don't stress about looks.

Thank you guys for the information . I mostly want to make sure rust doesn't happen and the mechanics stay in working order. I have lots of pin stripes from going on narrow trails so I'm not overly stressed about the paint.

Fluid film the frame if you're concerned about rust. Or spray it with that rubberized under coating.

I have rust where my sliders were welded. I cleaned up one side a few years back and hit it with that stuff on the inside. Last time I looked it was still good. The other side, not so much.

Don't ask why I only did one side. I was probably rushed or "in a hurry" for who knows what.

    On my to-do list though

I always spray off as much as I can at a car wash before heading home from the trail. Once home if time allows the truck gets a detailed cleaning. I will even get on my back to spray the undercarriage as best as I can. A pressure washer works good for that but if not a high pressured nozzle works good enough.

I got some time to get away last Sunday and Monday and went to Windrock. Fun as always. Apparently the skunks have become bold in the camp area. We saw three different ones and one literally got so close we could have reached down and touched it. (We of course took off as fast as we could without startling it). came out with some cosmetic damage to the front and rear bumper. Front is pushed up on the driver side just a touch. Able to drive home so it was a successful trip.

Both trail pics are of 22. We hit it the day before they closed it for maintenance. Not sure if it’s reopened yet. Not a hard trail, just that one spot. My friend came out with body damage to at the same spot I did, just a different rock, lol.
16 is still gnarly especially in the dark. Thankfully we only did a small section of that trail.
Been 2 years since my last time and a lot has changed on the trails but a lot remains the same.

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
Looks like a fun time was had ;)

Anyone interested in trading a factory bed cover for the plastic bedrails that go on top?

I figured I might as well make this my 500 post. But those skunks, rocks, beer on the table and Windrock & Damage would not serve me well. Looks like Ya'll had fun though!

i have smelled skunks probably 50% of the time I have been. I’ve seen them before too. But never like this. I’m guessing they must have bad eye sight or they see humans as a food source and not a threat.
    Congrats on #500

Funny you mentioned the coordinates. I take photos of them when I find a good spot. That's on the road going into the trail. You can also get back there through the Sarah's creek Campground though. That's where I ended up coming out. There was one trail back there that I stopped at and didn't go any further. It was a difficult looking spot with a deep washout gorge on one side. I'd love to go back and try it with another truck if anyone is up for it.

For those of y’all that have your trucks paid off, how long did it take to get the title in-hand?
