Buckhead got ran the fuck over by that tropical storm. I spent all day with my chainsaw and truck clearing roads in the neighborhood. Power's been down since 0400, so we're making do on a Honda generator. Gotta love the trusty old EU2000.

Most of my neighbors were elderly and I think I'm the only one who owns a functional truck on the block, so I was glad to do it just to get the roads cleared.

    Here's one of the spots:

    b4.jpg

And an after shot from the other direction. It took 4 hours, there's a lot of shit in that pile. It was two oaks that fell together, and whacked off half a poplar. An innocent peach tree was caught in it all and was reduced to a nub. The homeowners are renovating and live a good ways away, so this would have stayed blocked for a few days if I hadn't cleared it.

    after.jpg

All that said, it was a pain in the ass to finish because I think I busted my winch. It refuses to engage, so I had to use a snatch strap and just drag branches with the truck since they were too large for me to carry by hand. I tried spooling in, out, and trying to set the winch back to engage again - no luck. It's just stuck in disengage.

Anyone had this happen and know how to fix it before I ask the manufacturer?

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
Could be a solenoid took a shit. Better that than your clutch.
    Check these bro!

Would like more info on this as well. I kind of doubt this is my issue, but I may need to raise the bed anyway to get access to my evap system. Might as well check this if it isn't too much extra work.

    What?

    What winch do you have?

Thanks! That's not the issue though, it goes both ways just fine. The manual engage / disengage lever just won't go into engage mode.

The lever won't move at all or it moves and just doesn't engage/disengage when in the corresponding position?

Lever will move from the center to fully disengaged. It will not move past the center to engaged position. It has a 180 degree flip between engage and disengage and moves freely in the 90 degrees of disengage.

Here's a pretty good video show how the lever works and catches on a warn winch. I know you have a different brand but it's probably a very similar design. Might need to take the cover off and just see what you you see. I remember when I had an old T-max winch i had the same issue when I first installed it. A few hard taps with a hammer finally freed the lever and it was able to rotate in both positions easily and I never had an issue after that . You might just have a bind that needs to be freed. In no way am I advising you hit your lever with a hammer haha. I just know that worked for me. Very light but stern taps.

    Anyone here do carpentry?

I have an old kitchen that has a hood above the stove. Would like to put in an above the stove microwave. I would like to modify the existing cabinet to make space. I'm OK if it would be permanently closed.

    Hey guys!

I'm trying to figure out a suspension. It's coming down to Dobinsons Nitro full kit or Ironman 4x4 Foam cell kit. Both would include full leafs and UCA's. Both kits come out to about $2000 each. I figured I'd ask here since you all are pretty responsive! Thanks.

My full ADS Setup with Remotes and Clickers was was a little less than $3K. I would look into headstrong with ADS or Elka. Without resis and clickers, you could probably get close to $2K and have a much higher end suspension.

Hey brother. Thanks again for the sliders! I spoke with headstrong and they pushed for the 5100 setup. But when you add in UCA's it climbs over the Dobinson and Ironman price points. I was considering Old Man Emu but the rough ride isn't what I want. I looked into ADS and MRR Dobinson but I don't want to over-purchase, ya know? I think the Dobinson or Ironman kit is a step up from 5100's without going the further step of resi/clickers/$1000

Did you get the full kit with leafs and UCA's? I'd love to hear more about it. Thanks!

What about 5160/6100s? You can get a set for ~$800 and do an AAL. For UCAs, have you looked at the SPCs?

I would like a full leaf pack to support the shell/rack/KB Voodoo shelf and rear bumper. That puts it up to $1400 before UCA's. The margins seems super close. The Ironman is a 2.8 kit so more beef than the Billies.

I had Ironman4x4 nitro lift on as my first lift. I don't have any first hand experience with either kit, but I would vote for the Ironman between the two. Those foam cells are supposed to be nice!

Yes I did easy install took about 4.5 hours by myself set the front at 3.5 inch the rear is at just below 3.5 maybe 3.25 and that’s with my camper
I’ve taken this setup off road and honestly Ironman did a good job on these foam cells was going about 45mph on gravel/washboard roads feeling BETTER than on road lol but on road is good as well
