Even getting the point removed would be worth it.

So just buy a mount and show it to them?

    Same crap everyone else got
Avoiding the point was my goal. The $50 fine is what it is. (I was stopped in traffic and looking at my gps to find out why there was traffic and the officer felt it was his duty to keep me safe by giving me a ticket)
If I had know about the mount thing I would have tried that but didn't know to do that to avoid it all entirely.

Getting the point removed is my biggest concern as well. Not sure how much it would impact things, but rather not have a chance of insurance going up. Like you said, the $50 fine is what it is....if we can get it dropped, awesome! If not, oh well.

I suppose I'll try ordering a cell phone mount and seeing if that can get them both dropped. If not, we'll see about at least getting the point removed.

If anyone else has experience, I'd love to hear it.

Another thing that "is what it is"....my wife has an iphone, I have an android. For whatever reason my truck head unit (Kenwood) doesn't switch between the two very easily. Her car (OEM Ford) switches without issue. I'm sure she wouldn't be holding the phone if she were in her vehicle or if the head unit in my truck weren't so finicky.

If you find out if the cell phone mount thing works to drop the points/fine let me know. Pretty sure I've got a basic 3M tape/magnetic one somewhere I can ship you in a cheap-O package envelope.

Admittedly they're less than $10 on Amazon so may not be worth it. Just an offer.

4th paragraph down. It's a for sure thing, I posted in this same thread last year when it happened to me, someone else told me about how to get out of it, and surely it worked. I've had 2 other friends go through the same thing here in Gwinnett County and it worked as well.

Before Toyota’s I had a bunch of BMWs . I sold the 4Runner (did great) and needed a car for a little while while I wait for prices to settle down.

I might be the first to put wild peaks on one!

There is a provision in the law that allows them to drop the charge on the 1st offense only provided that you can show proof that you purchase a hands free device. You need to bring a receipt showing that you bought one. You can’t show up and claim that you are using your in car Bluetooth or something.

I’ve gone for speeding tickets and as long as someone does that and it’s their first offense, they dismiss it.

    AWESOME!!!

If we ever get to a meet, I owe you guys a beer.

Jonathan, don't worry about shipping the mount. It looks like Walmart has them for under $5. I'm sure your time and cost of shipping would be more than that.

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
I was in my buddy Rick’s FJC with no sway bar. Rolling on a very well used suspension, we went they a massive turn truck was most certainly three wheelin. I looked over at him a said, a hell no bro!
He said hold my beer, watch this shit!

I love the beadlock wheels. I don't know if I could ever sell them. If I do I'll let you know for sure.
