Finally getting back around to list of stuff for my taco - got a vibration/noise ever since the wreck and from hours of late night reading on here sounds like clutch on AC compressor likely.... sounds pretty common anyone here replaced it and got lucky didn't have to go full ac system fix $$ compressor condenser etc? Sounds like most places try to make you buy a new compressor with clutch vs sourcing the clutch separate but few on ebay etc. Also anyone got these cheap HF ac guages ? work aright enough to use every blue moon or so when I actually need them?

Yeah man, I’ll take some pics of the bad areas in a bit. There are def bubbles in there; like @Built2Ride said, I plan to poke with with an exacto, I just haven’t yet. Still trying to put it back together. Gotta get the mirrors bolted back and the doors put together.

My AC is doing a weird thing where it will blow and then just stop. Then it will blow and then just stop again.

I'm thinking it is the fan blower resistor. Anyone have any similar experience?

So here’s some of the worst areas. The seams didn’t go right, but it’s okay enough I can live with it. It’s not like im gonna rip up the whole thing now.

Is it the fan or the actual AC? When my resistor went out, the fan would work erratically on anything that wasn’t HIGH. To test, see if it works on high and then try wiggling the resistor when in a slower speed.

Yes... You're prob right but check the pigtail to the actual blower motor and get the resistor kit with long pigtails too. If it's like mine you'll find more than few inches of compromised wiring. The pigtail to the blower motor melted on mine as well I ended up having to replace the whole set up, but at least it's super easy.

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
I bet you money is the Main AC Relay. Happens a lot after some miles on the truck. Seriously just change it out.

I just bought like 3 truck payments worth of parts from Toyota.

Resistor and harness were $60 of it. I'll maybe install that tomorrow.

Also decided to buy OEM LCAs, so I won't need those from @MDB Taco . Thank you for being so willing. Also, I bet those air bubbles come out with time.

Rounding out the purchase today was a new evap canister. That's been overdue for a while now.

Rotated my tires tonight and found a torn sway bar end link. The joys of an aging truck.

This will likely be the next step if not the resistor.

To those who took their sway bars off and have no intention of reinstalling them: Do you have your sway bar end links that you'd like to trade for a 6-pack of something delicious?

What side do you need? I had to replace my passenger side after tearing the boot doing some work so I bought replacements for both sides. If you need the driver, I could go ahead and install the new one real quick and you have have my take off. IT will be in good shape. You can have it if you want it.

    Driver side.

What replacements did you get? Best price for OEM I've found is $104 each. Like you, I want to replace both just for the peace of mind and not worrying about the other side tearing. I'm not sure how much I trust the $30 options that i'm seeing online.

Movotech was like $25 each. Its a sway bar link so It's not super high stress area and it's pretty basic piece so I was more concerned with it having flat sides to use a wrench on instead of having to clap down on the boot end with a vice grip to get it off like the oem ones. There are somethings the brand or oem are necessary or worth getting. Sway bar end links I don't consider one of those things.
Esp considering the amount of people who don't run the sway bar anyways.

When replacing a brake master cylinder, what’s the point of “bench bleeding”? Is all the fluid not gonna just drip out as soon as you take the plugs out to install the lines back?

I feel like I'm going way too deep down a rabbit hole that doesn't need to be gone down.

I think I've pretty much eliminated the OEM sway bar end links (due to cost) and narrowed it down to these two options:

    NAPA Proformer (12mo / 12k mi warranty)
    21.99 left - https://www.napaonline.com/en/p/PCQ...&impressionRank=1&keywordInput=sway+bar+links
    21.99 right - https://www.napaonline.com/en/p/PCQ...&impressionRank=3&keywordInput=sway+bar+links
    (w/ 20% off, after tax = $37.28)

MevoTech Terrain Tough (limited lifetime warranty)
    $31.79 left - https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=11157305&cc=1447055&pt=7580&jsn=878
    $33.99 right - https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=11157309&cc=1447055&pt=7580
    + shipping

By comparison, the MevoTech are $72.50 each on Napa website and Rock Auto says they are an upgrade from stock.

The MevoTech are greaseable where it doesn't look like the Napa ones are. If it isn't going to squeak, I think I prefer the non-greaseable ones just because I don't care to have something else that I have to remember to grease. The flip side of that is I want to be able to grease them if they are inadequate from the mfg.

Come back to the base brother. These are sway bar end links not shocks. They serve a very basic and simple purpose. No need to over complicate or spend extra on this. Save the extra for something else.
The Mevotech ones on rockauto in the daily driver section are $20 each plus shippping and you can get 5% off. The Premium ones are going to be overkill in my opinion but if its what you want then by all means YOLO.
