I think it will grow on people quickly. I'm going to reserve judgement until I see one in person, but I think it will do well based on what I've ready.

So you got one? in addition to, or instead of the BMW?

 

• Sold the 4 Runner - Made $3500 8months and 20k miles later, bought the BMW
• Sold the BMW and made $3K, bought a Prius
• Sold the Prius in 1 day, made $2700

Just picked this up at the auction - should be delivered tomorrow or Friday- 2003 GX470, no Nav, 139K one owner with tons of records.

I wonder why it has SR5 4Runner wheels on it? Are those gunshot holes behind the license plate!??!?

 

Someone probably put aftermarket and then took them off. If there are any major issues, we can take it back to Carmax. They have pretty good auction rules.

So even after all the mods to the 4runner and selling it with them you were able to net $3500 more than you had into it total with cost of vehicle and mods?

 

They are dealer only auctions so you have to be a dealer or know one that will list you as a buyer for them.

 

Yeah, the vast majority of cars traded into CarMax are sold at their dealer auctions. They only put the absolute cream of the crop on their lot.

I parted it before I sold it.

Got top $ for almost all the parts because every company (Off Grid, Redarc, Prinsu...) is either OOS or has a 10 week lead.

On some items like the rack and sliders which I purchased used, I actually made money.

I left the wheels and suspension on. Wheels I got basically for free (bought for $300, sold my stocks for $300). I bought the suspension second hand for cheap.

Yeah man! This was a huge opportunity for me to ditch the car payment and make a little.

 

As a side note,

Anyone have or know of someone who has these?

 

My neighbor has a similar one.

He likes it - I have never used it.

 

My FIL has the smaller ones for sedans.

 

I have zero to add other than its pretty comical that the company used a beginner photoshop truck as the primary image.
