I came home looking for a mounted awning after getting a good amount of rain camping over the weekend. I just ordered a Slumberjack Roadhouse Tarp from Amazon instead. It doesn't have the cool factor of mounted and I'll have to find a place to store it within my already overloaded bed but it is hard for me to pass up the versatility of this. Being able to configure in numerous ways attached to my truck or freestanding seems like a game changer. I also picked up another pair of adjustable poles since the fixed length poles were one of the gripes. I should have it by Friday.

Also, got Fedex confirmation today my Victory 4x4 Strike bumper has arrived. Can't wait to get it mounted. :taco:

Still early but at this point I wouldn't hesitate recommending them for a MT. I haven't had a chance to take them offroad but they have a pretty aggressive tread pattern that I can only imagine leads up to the hype.

As for Pisgah, I love what I've seen of it. We go back almost every year but I'm sad to say we spend very little time outside of Davidson River Campground. I worked Friday from The Hub, that place is pretty nice. My son and I did a couple miles bike riding on Art Loeb Trail but that is a very tame trail compared to what I hear is available in that area. This trip is our family time trip. We tube on the river, jump off the rock, bicycle around the loops and most importantly hit up Dolly's at least once. I left the noodle bucket at home :D. I would love to get back out there and spend more time exploring the area. I tried to get the family out for a short hike but they shot me down. I can't complain because we just did Raven Cliff Falls ( our favorite hike in Ga ) a few weeks ago and that's a good 5 miles round trip.

are those awnings waterproof or is it more just sun shade. I was looking for something that I could set my hammock stand under and just sleep like that.

Man I love hiking I spent 5 weeks on the AT and love raven cliffs area gorgeous place. You need to checkout cowrock mountain on the AT awesome spot to view downtown Helen. Next time you go to pisgah let me know I would definitely love to join and wheel with you that would be a jam up time! And I can say I have heard alot of great things on those MTs my buddy has them on his Colorado and only has great things to say about them.

Panther Creek is another good one. We tend to enjoy trails with lots of water. Especially if our dog is with us ( which is generally the case ). Hiking at Wildcat Creek is another "go to" for us since it's only 40 minutes away. We are a handful of miles from Sawnee Mountain and the view of Indian Seats is decent if we want to get out but not take half the day.

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
I mean it’s a sheet that blocks the sun! What could go wrong!

Too many to list. I’m lazy
I believe they’re water resistant. Even if it’s not the best you could always spray it with the waterproofing spray from Walmart

If anyone's curious to regear to 5.29 on a 3rd gen with RWD and locker, ECGS quoted me a little less than $1.5k out the door. Sounds like a solid deal, definitely gonna be my next big purchase. They did mention that parts are backordered a good bit rn though. I really hope production levels get back to normal for everything sometime this year

I took advantage of a day off and plastidipped my grill. Then built a simple unistrut rack to carry my kayaks and paddle boards

Hi everyone, I recently bought a 2005 Tacoma 2.7L manual transmission 4wd access cab w/ 180,000 miles and a fair amount of rust on many of the components. The truck needs the clutch replaced as well as several of the suspension components (struts and upper/lower control arms). I have purchased all of the parts to swap, just need someone to do the labor. Most shops around the Atlanta area won't touch this job due to the rust. Does anyone have a recommended shop or reliable independent mechanic/Tacoma enthusiast that would be willing to help? Any recommendations appreciated! I'm also willing to travel and help with the work (I am fairly mechanically minded, just mostly oriented towards motorcycles)Thanks!

    Pics of said rust?

As for recommended shops, most people seem to love Greer Automotive Services.

    Same crap everyone else got
How bad is the rust? And if you have any rust then your cam/alignment bolts are most certainly rusted and frozen in there. They will probably need to be cut out so, if you haven't already got new ones for each side then you might want to before you start the job b/c you won't be able to finish without them if you do have to cut the old ones out.
