Moving this to the BS thread

Most states already have laws about the legal bumper height, which would certainly impact headlight height. I just don't think most law enforcement knows what that limit is, or care to stop someone for such a violation.

Here is it for FL:https://www.stateofflorida.com/vehicle-standards/ Though I've never heard of anyone being pulled over for bumper height.

Here's some info for GA: https://www.liftlaws.com/georgia_lift_laws.htm

That jeep looks good (partial to that color!) , but not a fan of spare tire delete. Guessing with the crazy weight of those beadlocks and 40s, they didn't want to mess with a swingout.

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
I just got the worst news. My best friend from HS committed suicide yesterday. I had not spoken with him in years.

So sad, I wish that I had kept in touch with him. We used to pay Army and roll the neighborhood on our BMXs.

Remember life will have is challenges and difficulties that seem overwhelming.

I used to feel overwhelmed at my hellacious job at Turner. Felt like I was stuck and didn’t control of my life, and I was a robot making GFX for TV (of which I don’t watch). I remember the day I quit, took time off, and reevaluated my life.
Just because you went to school for your vocation, put all the time in and may be even looked at like a God in your biz. Doesn’t mean you should do it.

my head is scrambled right now, and probably rambling… just remember, its good to laugh everyday and not take life too seriously. Don’t be afraid to cut your losses or make less money or move if need be.

A little of this and a little of that.
Sincerely sorry to hear of this JB. I also lost a friend to suicide several years ago. There are questions that'll never have answers. Your advice is solid, laugh often and don't take life too seriously. All the best to you as you come to terms with this unfortunate loss.

Sorry to hear the news man lots of empathy for you and his family. We all wish we could stay in touch with a few more old friends but it's just reality life happens and you can't keep up with everything. Can't fault yourself for that we all change throughout life and it takes us different places and we meet new people. It doesn't mean we burned down an old bridge to build a new one. No one has enough time to keep up with everyone and I say this from what I would consider the real world (Im not on social media).

Your rambling hit pretty close to home I relate a lot about the career field thing especially right now. It's not just about what you do but also who you do it for.

    This is worth quoting.

I used to work with a guy from England. He was very smart and sort of stuck in a dead end job. He seemed happy in what he did, and I had no idea he was depressed. Fast forward a couple of years and I was managing a Help Desk and needed someone with Mac experience. I reached out to him via email to see if he was interested. He responded to the first email asking for more information and I never heard back after that. I later found out that he ended his life in his bosses office (who was also a nice guy). I still wonder how things might have turned out differently if he would have just taken the job I was offering.

Most of the time. I would have postponed a call. I will say to my self, I can call tomorrow... Thinking there's always a next day.
But that day, I forced my self to make the call. Because it will be a week or so, before I make the call.
It could have been something, that would eat me, if the call wasn't made.

It was the last time, I talked to my father.

JB I’m sorry for the loss of your childhood friend and it’s hard to stay in touch with loved ones. Now we have higher technology which helps, but it’s still hard.
I want you to know that Your words you typed in your post have so much power for those who read it. We as individuals have the power to leave an occupation or a position that does not grant us the ability to obtain happiness and a work life balance. You have typed similar words before and I paid attention to your story along with pushing from my family(especially my awesome wife). So thank you for posting about your life here. I recently left my current job, to chose a different sector of my occupation, one that I never thought I would do or want to do. (Went from being a hotel chef to a hospital chef) I took a 10k cut in pay, but instead of working 80 hours a week I’m working 40-50. I now have time to see my children grow up, to be a father, and a husband.
To whoever needs to hear it, your job or position doesn’t define you. Go seek balance and be happy

I appreciate the kind words Dan. I am stoked for you about your recent change. This rat race we are all on has gone from a jog to a full on sprint. I am glad to hear you decided to look at what’s important to you and make that shift.

That last corporate job I had, I remember calling my folks and saying. Well I made it to the top, making good money, won some emmys for my work and now I am getting pushed into the red like drag car about to explode..daily.
“I think I am gonna sell my house and move back home with y’all” I said. I meant it, I was 28.

I actually didn’t even interpret the stress I was under, my whole day was a shit show back then. From 8a-2a, I burnt the candle at both ends. Working as an Art Director by day and had my own post production biz making national commercials at night.

Hell, most people/clients in my field couldn’t figure out how I could work like I did. Moreover, all they would talk about was money…”we don’t care what it cost” my clients said, this is due tomorrow morning and it’s 3am now.

I worked that way for 15yrs… until my boss, who was the head of Turner and I had it out in his office. I had not slept in about 5 days, I was on the edge of collapsing…my immediate boss thru me under the big bus, only for the 5th time that week. (Big Bus meaning hundreds or thousands of dollars were on the line, and I was the guy to make it happen).

In that last conversation I had with my boss I mentioned that I wasn’t happy anymore and that no one was pulling the reigns in on my work load, further more I told him that my direct was a complete moron, and couldn’t pass the info along I needed on a quarter hour basis.

He turned around in his chair that was worth more than my bonus, and said “We own you, which means all your time”. Then he had HR write me up for being insubordinate.

The next day I came in and gave my 6weeks notice (contractually a person in my position can’t give 2 weeks).

This is the good part! While I was working that last 6weeks, Turner began to show the signs of it selling out. The main Boss, head of Tuner got let go. My immediate boss, had no one to lean on and was scared as fuck (he had no idea how to run a TV Network), and me I was sitting pretty…did not give 2 fucks about anything…I was on my way out.

Well before I finally left the whole Network (175 people) were laid off at once. They brought us all into a huge conference room and the first thing that came out of that ladies mouth from NY was, as of August whatever, that all of us were terminated and our services were no longer needed!

Woohoo, I thought. You mean I get to get out of here with a big check at the end of all this bs and I get to watch this shit implode upon itself.

I feel for my co-workers big time. Most didn’t have their foot in something besides their main gig.

But in the end it was glorious to watch that bitch crumble.

Just a quick heads up for anyone who may need it. Another TW member I've met before reached out to me after a shop repaired his phone and didn't seal it properly. Sadly water got in his phone and he wasn't getting service anymore. He took it back to them and they said he was SOL. He reached out to me and I got it fixed next day :) if any of y'all ever have any issues with your phone or tablets, let me know!!! I've been doing this for almost 9 years now, and won't gouge you on price like the rest of this industry does.
