Their customer service seems to be a regular issue I've seen people mention. It keeps me clear of all their products.

That would piss me off. my swing out was made by a local guy and I have had it for several years now. I am still slightly parinoid about it swinging open on the road even though I have never had an issue with it to this day (excluding user error or offroading situatuions)

One of the reasons I went with SOS.

I don't think CBI is the same company it was 5 years ago. They used to have superb customer service and then it was like a light switch and things changed.

I want to support them because I know that running a custom fab shop is not an easy business and they are sort of local. That said, I'm in the group of people who had a bad experience with them. I'm torn on the matter so I won't slam them, but I'll just say that I had a bad experience.

Didn’t they get bought out by Prinsu? Or the other way around?

I have no horse in the race as I don’t own any CBI products (anymore). My only experience with them was through a separate retailer and was luckily problem free.

Customer service and/or durability of their products aside, they make some of the better looking bumpers available. Obviously that’s only my opinion.

I have their battery tray and skids. Neither was purchased from them directly but I did have to order a hardware kit from them for the skids I picked up from JB and it was remarkably painless. Only experience I’ve had with them.

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
Was a one size fits all… lol, get the pun there!

I will agree they have swag, and some good lines on their stuff. However, I can’t recommend them. Demello, C4, SSO I can recommend.

edit - do not get their Ditch brackets, as it will push your window cowl down. @Bizz saw this first hand at his place.

So that’s where those skids went. The hardware may have been my fault. I have no clue if I did or didn’t have that on hand to pass along to @Built2Ride

I’d add BAMF to that list of recommended fabricators JB. It’s unfortunate that CBI has fallen off so badly with the customer service.

Nah bro, I never had hardware… I ended up ordering Alum from BudBuilt. Had to save weight where I could.

Well damn. No I’m gonna have to search for a random bag of hardware that has no home. If I recall those plates reuse a fair amount of stock bolts, but there are def some that CBI supplied.

Haha yep. The front uses factory hardware but I had to buy the rear. Only down side was they won’t let you buy individual bolts. You have to buy the whole lot. Was only like $30 though so not biggie.
