    It's not a lever action .22.

It's not a specific anything. Alan knows that I was recently on the lookout for a 9mm optic ready w/ threaded barrel. I couldn't find the configuration in a compact, so I ended up getting the full size....but still had the need for a compact. So I picked up a compact too. Turns out the compact and full size are, for all intents and purposes, the same size. Stupid, right?

How can a compact and a full size be the same size? Aren't they fundamentally different in size? Nope! The slide on the compact is maybe 1/10" shorter than the full size. The grip is longer on the full size as it holds 17 rounds compared to the 15 rounds of the compact. I don't see the compact really being any easier to conceal than the full size.

So I have the compact M&P 2.0 that is optics ready that I don't think I really need. I picked it up yesterday and it has never been fired. But I like the M&P lineup and could get rid of some other 9mm pistols that I have and rarely touch.

If you don't end up listing it on the trader, Do you have any friends that are wanting to get into a good hand gun and don't own one? In the past year I've outfitted 5 friends with their first gun. They get a quality gun, you free up some space, wife is happy b/c she thinks you are thinning the herd, and you are happy b/c you now have a larger gun friend group and you get to buy more guns to replace them that you can sneak into the house and tell your wife you have had it for years when she asks you about the new gun. Win win for everyone.

I don't wanna dive into a topic that will be deleted, but I will say there are certain times of the 4th year of something, that gun sales tend to go through the roof, so depending on what you decide to keep and offload, you could potentially value something higher around then. That is, if you plan to sell to some rando; doesn't really matter if you're just trying to cut a friend a deal or something.

I don't really have many friends outside of TW. Still relatively new to the area. I figure it'll go on the trader if I do list it, which is why I was asking about the "proper" way to do a private sale.

Though I did find out that a friend owns Southern Gun and Pawn in Gainesville. They do $15 FFL transfers which seems to be cheaper than anyone else.

Yeah, but that is still 2 years away. I'm thinking I'd rather the money go to an AR-9 or something.

truprep in Marietta will do free FFL transfers for ODT members. It's not advertised but you just have to ask them.

I understand. Although with other world events, there's probably not a better time to be a seller than now/the next few months. Considering you're looking for something else to tickle your fancy, maybe just post it up in some TW threads looking for trades. May end up selling it outright that way too. I'd definitely still research how to facilitate a background check, especially if out of state and how that could differ, even if its not required for private sale, just to cover yourself.

Edit: you like drums? lol I know a guy.

No drums for me. I'm not musically inclined and my kids have enough things that make noise when you bang on them. Some are not even intended to be banged on.

If it's out of state, just need to make sure the buyer's FFL will accept it from a private individual. If they won't then you need to tell them to find a different FFL or you will have to take it to your FFL, have them log it and mail it to the sellers ffl that way.. Little more cost involved with that route.

Sounds really costly, and the only logical thing to do is to keep it.

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
I rolled up to AL today above Gadsden. A buddy bought about 260 acres and we went exploring! The previous owner had some sweet ridge trails, that had some amazing bluffs.
I will be going back with my dirtbike and some repelling gear.

Beautiful! I see repelling gear, what about bouldering? If you were close to Gadsden, you weren't very far from a little hidden treasure; that being a world class bouldering destination. I know the area well!
