I agree with that for sure. That's why I ordered plates before I even bought the tires. If I do something I want it done correctly.

I actually saw a video showing the tire being pushed back. I have a hard time imagining all the forces at work there.

I cannot like this enough lol. Though I would be tempted to put an Airstream on there and camo it. Towing certainly got easier.

Test fitting the new wheels and tires. Do ya'll think getting some SPC control arms to set the wheel a little further forward would be a good idea?

Interesting point you bring up. What size tires are they? I recently upgraded to 255 80 17's and had slight rubbing. Once I get some rear springs I am gonna raise the front end another inch and those issues will be rendered moot for me. Currently sitting at 2" lift on my front coils.

It's a 285-75-16. I knew I was gonna scrub some. But it's really not bad. But I took it off for now.

I have SPCs for sale if you want a set with newish (5k miles) ball joints and spares. Let me know.

On the CMC stuff I prefer to do it all because where I cut it will give you the most room THAT can be covered with a fill plate. Do you need a fill plate NO, but it leaves a sharp point say something fucks up and your tire hits your now sharp body mount not only do you have parts to fix but also a bad tire. Consider it cheap insurance. On the safety side of things if you are lifting, putting bigger tires, wider tires, wheel spacers, or more (-) offset wheels that safety feature is less needed you now have to worry about the tire hitting the door/sliders that is also inches away from your body mount. Due to this reason I would not worry about any safety reasons behind cutting or relocating. On the relocation side of things, DRT Fabrication is the only relocation I would go with because of design and only needed for 35s and up. My CMC I ran 35s with SPCs and still rubbed a little bit. So as long as you are ok with a little rubbing CMC all day long. If you want 35s and up and don’t want to rub at all then a relocation is the way to go. I don’t know anyone else in my area that gives as much room on a CMC then I do.

In short I prefer to do it all if I can if you want to cut it and bring it to me it may or may not be cheaper if I have to still take more off of it.

if you want to do a relocation on a Tacoma I have them in stock from DRT with red and black bushings.

for the 4runner guys the only reason to do a relocation is if you want to say you have a relocation. My BMC gives almost the same results as a relocation.

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
Coming back into town to pick up the taco.
Maybe I can schedule a little chop soon :)

I'm wondering how the hell I haven't seen your truck around town by now. Lilburn, right?

and I've considered getting a shell, but the truck doesn't get driven but on the weekends and I'm not sure if I wanna drop the money on something I won't use often. Just kinda waiting for the right deal to fall in my lap perhaps.
