I'm looking at taking advance of some of the sales for America's birthday. I plan on ordering cbi skid plates and a icon rtx full leaf pack for the rear. With adding the more weight and better leaf pack should I change the rear shocks? I currently have the eibach pro sport shocks. I feel the coilovers on the front are great. Just questioning the rear.

Adding the weight and leaf pack shouldn’t singularly mandate swapping your shocks. It’s possible your current shock has less available travel than the RXT. I think you want to run shocks with more travel than your leaf pack. That way your beefy leafs kinda protect your shocks so to speak. It’s possible I have it backwards :notsure:

Reach out to Colton @memario1214 at Hots Shots Off-road. He has pretty competitive pricing on RXTs and has a wealth of knowledge to boot.

If you aren’t dead set on skids from CBI it may be worth looking at C4 Fab. Protection and features I think they are on par. C4 will be offering 15% off tomorrow, and free shipping which will net you some savings over CBI once you factor in their shipping costs (~$350 quote to GA).

Actually the reason I chose cbi is getting the through asheville vehicle outfitters. I'm gonna have to ride up to Asheville to pick them up but out the door total is gonna be less than 900. I was shopping around for every brand and found the deal. Thank you on the rear end advise. Yeah I was planning on ordering through hotshot because they have a killer deal going on too. Less than 600 to my house.

Heck yea! That’s a solid price on the full CBI setup. The cost of shipping is the deal breaker in my mind.

Does AVO have CBI parts in stock that they’re honoring the 10% off? Now you've peaked my curiosity.

They said it's about a 4 week lead time. Yeah cbi said shipping was 350 and I checked with avo being a vendor and they said they could hook me up. They are also doing a big sale so I guess I'm getting a double discount ordering through them. Which that's a headsup to anyone that needs to order something give Asheville vehicle outfitters a call and they could hook you up too.

That's correct you don't want your shock being the limiting factor when drooping it out, but on compression you need to make sure you have your bump stops set up correctly so you don't smash your shocks shaft

Don’t tell AVO you know me lol

They are a super cool group of guys and know what’s up for sure. I toured their new shop near the airport…sucks cause they were close by, but the new shop is sweet.

The owner was the leading sales
Rep for NA ARB. The man has the connections and can keep stuff in stock. Including Ali-Cab Cabins.

I am looking to get some work done there soon. But I should just do it myself.

They are roughly an 8hr round trip for me. I’m trying not to be in the market but I am a sucker for a sale some times. May shoot them an email and see what’s available for discounts :anonymous:

See that's what I was thinking so it's a whole other can of worms. I may not change the rear leafs for now at all.

Man I saw this sick side by side on the street (a back country road) this weekend. It was a four door with long travel.

Brappppp, it’s funny how they look like you can jump them. But when you do, you realize they were meant for sand dunes. I have launched mine a few times. These thubgs are bad about nose diving…all of them are.

Ah. Gotcha. Yeah they look like real sand dune baja racing machines. I'm sure that would be a pretty scary moment.

I have officially ordered and paid for the skids. The reason I wanted the new leaf pack was when my camper shell was on it made the truck level then any weight I added would make the rear a littler lower the front. That's why I took my shell off to begin with. I'm thinking adding the weight up front may combat that and if I'm unhappy I'll eventually dive into the leaf pack, rear shocks, bump stops, brake lines, etc. I'm sure there will be a good sale to catch again like black Friday or something.
