FWIW, I like my ditch lights for the narrow 2-lane county roads that have trees right at the edge of pavement. I have white ones tied to my high beams.

The toyota OEM led headlights are great and wide compared to the morimoto ones but they have the same crisp cut off on top. They are also not plug and play for older models.

fogs or ditch lights i would do Fogs over ditch lights. I used tk have BD Pro squadrons but could never use them unless i didnt care about blinding people. i swapped everything over to Morimoto and in my opinion they are WAY better for the front of a vehicle. The with a few of their 4banger lights i can light up a divided 5 lane highway and never get flashed. My BDs were great dont get me wrong but when my Morimoto fogs make my BD 30”S8 light bar almost useless it was time yo change some things. One thing i like about BD over the morimoto is they throw light EVERYWHERE evenly very well now morimoto has come out with a flood light to combat this that i have yet to try out. so for me Morimoto for the front and until i try out the floods the BDs for the rear of the truck for work/scene lights.

I got LED on my Taco as a part of the Advance Tech package. They are the best headlight I have used. I have used H9 in place of H11(Chrysler T&C), HIR bulbs (OG Toshiba fat round ones in reflector housing and current Phillips HIR in projector and reflector housings), and Tacoma LEDs are the best of the bunch. Cut off is sharp, but high beams are also LED, so when I run both HB and LB, lights blend together and there is no visible cut off on the road.

HIR bulbs in a projector (RAV4) beat H9 in the reflector (Chrysler T&C), and Taco OEM LED are still better.

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
I appreciate the input. I think I am having a hard time dealing with the harsh cutoff on my morimoto LEDs is the issue I am having.
I know they aren’t nearly as good as the oem LEDs. I need to ride in a truck with the LEDs. For $1200 I need to see it.

Where are you at? Do not blame you for wanting to see it, that's a lot of dough.

I live an hour north of Asheville NC. In the middle of the Pisgah National Forest.
I do get out on occasion, maybe I could treat y’all to some dinner in your area for showing me some lights lol

I am gonna try to take some back to back night shots this week. We cleared the back of the land some, so there is a semi-clear 500ft path to the woods in the back of the property.
Chrysler T&C with Philips H9 in the L reflectors and Philips H11+150 in High reflectors.
RAV4 with Phillips HIR in Low projectors and High reflectors (closest equivalent to Gen3 Taco projectors). HIR bulb puts out more lumens than H9, using 55W, instead of 65W.
Tacoma with OEM LED Low and High.

On another note. I just picked up a John Deere this week! Woohoo! Got it on some horse trading.

I wish I had it before I built my giant fence. But a buddy had one on his Kubota and it most certainly helped out :)

Took the pics tonight. It supposed to rain for the next 3 days, so I had to hurry, back pasture will be impassable to 2WD. Hence no distance markers, but should give a relative idea.
All pics were taken outside the vehicles, auto flash on the phone stayed on. Did not think of turning it off till later, sorry.

First set pf pics is a Crysler T&C reflector H and L with a modded H9 low beam, and H11+150 high beam:

Just noticed that Taco was parked 3 or 4 feet further back than Chrysler or RAV (you can see a burn pile on the left in the Taco pic, that's not visible in the other 2 sets).
But farthest reach on Low is similar for all 3 vehicles. That means Taco's headlights project farther than the rest. Was it due to Tacoma being the tallest of the three? I am leaning that way. The less lit area right in the front of the truck (when viewed from outside) was longer for the Tacoma, but I do not see that less lit area when I am in the cab.

Ended up skipping the OEM LED purchase this BF, maybe around tax season.

Opted to improve drive lighting for now with a set of SAE Diode Dynamic SS3 Pros. New bumper purchase sapped my funds.
