Nice man! I advise against using the plastic shock boots that go on the front struts.

Really? When I had mine, I checked not long after I had installed them and there was shit caked all the way to the top of the cover and that was from normal driving. After a while I would imagine all the stuff that can get caught in there would wreak havoc on the strut.

I'm planning to get to dealer to try for the rear leaf tsb first. Don't know when I'll get down there, been rather busy with the little one taking up so much time. I don't have the freedom I used to. It's all worth it though. Also may need some help. Have been looking at install instructions, doesn't look too bad but I'm not sure I want to try it alone. Don't need to spend the money for a shop to do it.

So you just run them with nothing or is there another option? I don't wheel much, haven't even since I've had the truck. Not that I wont, just nothing extreme.

Shit I more than qualify as a webwheeler. I don't get out as much as I would like. I ended up just cutting them off with my knife. They are supposed to keep stuff "out" but in my experience they just trapped stuff in. You are more than welcome to use them but just check the inside every so often. If they are pretty clean then no worries! And like you said do not pay anyone to install your new parts. It is *very* easy to do it yourself.

Looks easy, but I read based on the Toytec lift install on here that you do need an extra set of hands. Not sure why?

Simple question though, how do you remove the ring clips to set the height? Never saw these up close before, kinda scary that the clip is all that holds all that pressure of the coil.

I had a difficult time removing the stock strut because of the UCA. An extra set of hands definitely helped there. I moved the ring clip with a set of needle nose pliers. Just gently move one side out of the stock location and then proceed with the other side. Best advice I can give on the whole install would be to take your time with everything. Expect everything to be FUBAR the first time and you will be golden. I know that probably doesn't make sense but I always have high expectations so aiming low always helps for me.

The hardest part is getting the struts out. I didn't loosen any a arms or disconnect sway bar ends. Just had a buddy that had a little weight on him stand on the rotor which pushed the lower a arm down enough to get it out lol. Compressing the spring is a little nerve wrecking but you'll be fine. This was on a 1st gen.

If I do them myself I may just take the coils to a shop to have that part done for me. I've been told it shouldn't cost $25 or so. Not sure if that was meaning for both or each?

I ended up doing this for the other coil. I wouldn't pay more than $50 to have both done.

Trying to decide also if I want to do the 1/4" spacer for the "Taco lean". Mine does sit about 1/4" lower on the drivers side now. I've seen where someone had this set up and the 1/4" actually gave about 1/2". So his measurements after the lift were 1/4" higher on the drivers side. So what's the point? Seems we need a 1/8" spacer to even out the lean. :goingcrazy:
