    damn, that blows. Just go sleep in the stand! I'm fortunate enough to have private land to hunt on. 63 acres of pure badassery. We didn't plant our plot until this past Monday, so I don't really have anything to lure them in for a couple of weeks, but the rut isn't supposed to start until mid-November here, so there's plenty of time. We do have a creek that goes straight through the land, so I set up right above it.

    My dad has been hunting the same areas for like 20 years. I started hunting a lot more after I got out of school, and have been in this one particular spot most of the time. I've got several different places to go, of course, but this spot has been a honey hole for me, my dad, my uncle, and another guy that hunts with us. First deer I ever killed came from there, actually. And missed the biggest buck I've ever seen in there.

    Typically doesn't matter if there's food or not, they run that ridge. But this year we haven't seen anything there. Been hard to see any deer anywhere actually. There are SOOOO many acorns this year that the deer don't have to move at all.
