Have any of y'all gone to a shop to get something cerakoted? I found one place close to me but haven't actually seen much of their work.

My dad has a 2017 and loves it. It's so much bigger than my Tacoma. I hate how bubbly the Tundras are though.

Thanks. I've watched a tutorial on YouTube like 3 times, so I think I've got it down. My only concern is getting the bottom bolt threaded on the new shocks on the front. That was a huge PITA on my 2003. In the 2nd gen video, he does it like it's nothing though :notsure:

That's what I used, too...worked alright. In the video I watched he didn't need anything though...it just slid right through with no problems...it was a big Fox coilover, too.

    Hopefully mine goes that smoothly.

Worst case, mark your alignment tabs and loosen the LCA and it'll slide right in ( )

Exactly, so I would do that since it's a new truck and rust hasn't found any of those bolts yet. I would bet you have it done for sure by Friday night

    Yours is a 15 right?

Not to send bad vibes your way, but when i did mine (a 2014) I was expecting it to go just like that video... well even though you couldn't see rust anywhere, i had to cut off both front shocks with a sawzall, and use a floor jack to press LCA's down to make room. It was an incredibly huge bitch, and took hours, meaning i couldn't even get to the AAL that night. When i took it in to get aligned, they said the LCAs were seized, and that they see it all the time on Tacomas, a lot of posts on here about it. Ended up having to cut out and replace LCAs too.

Hope to hell that doesn't happen to you, but be prepared. If you mark the alignment tabs, loosen, and the LCAs don't droop like they should, that is probably the culprit. I wish i would have taken a picture of how i had that floor jack in there trying to pressure the LCA down, thinking it would break loose and droop.

Mine is a 2015...it only had like 22,000 miles when I bought it though. What sucks is they had a used tan 2017 tacoma with 12,000 miles there the week after I bought mine for like $5k cheaper than I paid for mine...but it was a 2wd.

Now I'm scared about the lift...hopefully I won't have any LCA issues.

When I was putting the coilovers in my 2003, I used a floor jack on top of the UCA to push up on the wheel well to make it go down into that damn bottom shock bolt hole. It was sketchy as fuck lol.

Ohhhh I thought you had a third gen. Well still I think you'll be alright, just spray PB blaster on all those bolts (works a lot better than WD40) day and night
