Nice! Did y’all do the needle bushing too?

Seeing as you have a full shop, what’s the possibility of scheduling a weekend day to knock out a lift and possible needle bushing, even if isn’t on a mod day? Clearly I missed this one.

Ok so I don't want to sound like a complete dummy, and I know I can count on the local GA guys and gals not to talk down to me, but what is the needle bushing? what does it do, and how do you know if you need to replace it? Educate me, please.

It's a needle bearing just inside driver side of front diff. After a lift the torsional stress causes roaring and tiny vibes for most people. Bushing is the replacement and is sold by.ecgs.

for those that have the roaring and tiny vibes, are they the same for everyone who has them? Are they constant, or just at stops?

Sweet!! I’m not sure exactly where y’all are at, but I’m in Newnan so Pike county isn’t too far.

What all do I need to buy for needle bearing replacement? Just the bushing and oil/grease? :notsure:

Now I’ve gotten decide on which lift. Just sold my quad so I’m debating how to waste that money. Tires and wheels are first, then it’s either a topper or a lift (and possibly a Softopper).

If I don’t buy a lift now I’ll see what kind of sales happen during tax season.

Someone was just selling a softopper for a very good price. It may be in the GA classified thread.

@CountryDan usually the vibes are around 40 mph for people and you can check by going into 4x4 and see if it goes away. If it does its needle bearing. My roar was basically like tire noise on driver side.
@backcountryj east coast gear supply sells bushing and you will need to get an axle seal just in case the old one gets damaged and either gear oil to top off or enough to change it if it's time for it.

Had a great time today with the South crew. Some super guys and rigs too. The rat rod was the baddest thing I've seen. Made the drive home without my sway bar and DIDN'T die...lol. Thanks Travis. Truely appreciate all the help..and the prank...ya you got me. Looking forward to the next mod day already. Got a couple pics, I was so wound up I forgot to take many. ☮️

Right on. I meant to buy the bushing when ECGS has their Christmas sale, but I missed. Is the stralership the only place to get the axle seal?

My truck only has 4K miles on it as of now, so I would think a top off would be all that’s necessary. I may just revisit fallen Smitty’s writeup to see what all is needed.

@Mudfootshuffle What taco in Newnan is yours, there’s a few. Not too many built, mine included, but there are a few.

It’s a Bestop. Not quite what I’m looking for if I go soft. Thanks for looking out though, that is a great price!

They sell a kit on the ECGS website that includes a Toyota brand seal with the bushing.
