Those of you that have done a retro, is the shroud supposed to stick all the way to the back and touch the headlight housing or stick like a 1/4" or so from the headlight housing.

I have the panorama shrouds that are f'ing huge and wondering how the hell I'm supposed to trim them perfectly to the headlight itself

Mine are sticking a little out. It's really up to you if you want it to be closer or not. As long as you can put your lens on and it clears. Screw it be done, that's what I did

I had to use a dremel and sand em down, I recommend it. It fits much better. Same shroud. Can find better pics of the build later if you need.4FF86DBE-F47E-4DF6-A3C5-3DD0CEDABA49.jpg

    These are a pain:(

Needs to go down another 1/8" to seat on the shroud up top. Bottom is good

When you guys painted, did you completely strip the chrome or just sand it? I have about any grit possible, used 400 on the reflector housing for better adhesion for jb weld

Nah I just primed and paint. Then hit it with some high heat paint. It's held for 3-4 years no problem, I can't remember when it actually was done tho

I scuffed them up good. Now I'm fighting the wind....guess a lot of wet sanding never hurt anyone.

One more question, believe both of yall have done d2s.

Did yall trust the bolt and nut or cement it to the headlight as well. I know you need some on the back for the nut to act like locktight correct, but not sure on the inside part of the headlight so there is no way for it to twist

How'd you do it? I was thinking epoxy the rubber ring to the headlight and then ring to the reflector and spread it around the threaded shaft to make sure it ain't going anywhere
