IIRC, the CMC will let one run 285 75's , right?

I get rubbing on my cab mounts with my 33" Toyos and would like the extra room, so if it opens me up to 285 75's that's worth the $$

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
I see you have one. Care to share any info, experiences or links that would really steer me towards that Habitat.
Always like to ask those who own the gear first hand.

We were just talking on the below thread about how the Habitat just doesn't have a big web presence like the GFC and Vagabond. This thread is probably one of the best i've found, but it's pretty limited compared to what you see for the wedges

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/at-habitat-pictures-ideas-aaand-bs.532519/

You can also hit up my build thread in my signature, it's turning way more into a Habitat camping thread than anything else. At least until my wife says to go ahead and spend a couple grand on bumpers :)

We love the Habitat, we've hopped in a couple of the wedges, even on a full sized truck, and the space just isn't there like in the Habitat. I always mention the fact a person can be sleeping in bed, while the other can climb down into the truck bed and have the full space. I get up before my wife usually, fire up the heater, maybe grab something from the fridge, change clothes, stretch out a bit. Much less space in the wedges.

Now I have heard that the wedges are better in high wind since there is way less material to flap around, and there would be other advantages with the hard roof, i'm sure. If I was single, or very rarely had a second person with me, the wedge would be easier to set up and take down and prolly be the way to go. But, as a "family" camper, I couldn't be happier.

O.k., good to know. I have a 3" Icon lift and am regeared to 4.56. With 285 70's I'm over geared by around 10%, so the little bit extra of 285 75's should help a bit. 35's? hmmm...

If you plan on going 35s I recommend a custom chop and you definitely won’t rub on it. With the plate it may not be big enough to cut what you need to fit 35s... I have had to redo 2 chops for people because they had someone do the chop for them with the fill plates and now they have 35s and they are rubbing a little bit.... don it once cry once also I charge $250 for a fill plate chop mind you I bend the flat plate to get you as much clearance as possible but you have to supply the fill plate. If you do a custom it is $300 and you show up I cut, weld, and paint. And no more rubbing in your future haha. Send me a pm if you want me to do it also you can check out my Instagram @tacomaturnerfab for some pictures of the ones I have done.

IIRC like 3-5 hours and if Bryan is home we can come down and goof off since he lives right down the street from us

+1 for the broker. You'll get better coverage for less money. Revisit the broker every 2 years.
