Welcome! Nice rig, I work in Alpharetta and houses are super expensive. Marietta isn't bad just watch out what areas you live in. Most of the "good" trails are gone, with only 1-2 that are fun/challenging while the rest are glorified FS roads. Head to TN if you want a challenge. Check out the first post on this thread and get plugged in!

I'll also cast my vote for the Dakars pack. I've been very pleased with mine both loaded and unloaded. The rear is a little higher than i like unloaded, but you get used to it quickly. Fair warning, I hear that all Dakar packs squeak. Mine do, but only during season changes.

I'm officially in the area and on the hunt for a house. Mainly looking in the Suwanee/Buford and surrounding areas. I've been driving a LOT lately checking out houses, so keep an eye out for the Pyrite Mica 2nd gen with the Texas tags.

I live in the actual city of Buford and it's gorgeous. Wouldn't want to live anywhere else!

I've saved a few houses in Gainesville, but I'm thinking that might be too long of a drive. I found a few that I like in Buford today, which is a nice change from the junk that I've been looking at up to this point.

Could anyone recommend nice areas (to live) on the eastern side of ATL within 30 mins from the airport?

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
I was able to recover some pics of my old 2nd gen taco. I thought you guys would enjoy seeing it. I know some are going to ask, that is a 3m satin black wrap I put on there. After owning for a bit with the wrap, I don’t recommend it, plastic dip is much easier to deal with down the road.
Wish I still had it...but no looking back..onward!

a lot of bad ass stuff
@Built2Ride I’ve always been curious how those wrap jobs do on trails when it comes to pinstripes?
Would the wrap snag on thrones and such? (That would be my thought) or are the wraps more durable than that?
Is that why you said plastidip is easier to deal with(maintaining and such)?
That was a good looking truck though. Like that satin look.

    Good morning Dan,
So the wraps hold up on the trail, which is why I put it on there. The satin is a good choice for hiding the pinstripes, but black is not the best choice. The glossier the color the more you can see the scratches in the sun.
Hard for me to say, but I would say the wrap is stronger due to he fact it is a solid layer.
Plastic dip wasn’t on the scene really when I did my wrap. But after seeing my friends trucks and cars done up with the plastic dip, it was apparent that is the better direction. I have seen a nice battleship grey, cement grey, a blue that reminds me of what the Navy uses.

You can and should apply multiple coats of the plastic dip. This will give you added strength and a better appearance.
The cool thing is you can peel it off in seconds and re-apply, or just clean the surface that is already sprayed and spray another coat.
Thanks for the compliments, my dumb a$$ should never have let it go. But the suspension was a 6” lift and was not articulating like I wanted, nor could it be fixed...well not easily.

Must have, those pics were taken by the dealer before I purchased it.
    Never noticed that, good eye.
I actually only washed that truck twice when I owned, another nice thing about a wrap.

I live in an area called East Atlanta Village. It’s kinda the young professionals area, aka one of the last affordable places to live. It’s worth checking out.
Other areas would include Grant Park, Kirkwood, and Oakhurst. Decatur is nice, but with traffic you will probably be outside the 30min window, depending on when you commute.
If your around my way, hit me up and we can roll around the area and I can show you.

    Thanks I’ll check those out.
I work at night so traffic isn’t really an issue.

In that case you have more options for sure. Let me know when your ready and we can roll out. I own a landscaping company and have clients all over this side of town.

1st gen is going to be down for a bit, throw out bearing or pilot bearing is sounding absolutely horrible.

Hopefully I can tackle it myself. Might drive it next week to get the new truck in on its 5k service.

After that I believe the 3rd gen needs some rx350s or drop in hid kit..... cant choose
