Heavy. Full skids, racks, winch bumper, HC rear with swingout, camper with platform and cargo. I run Dakar HD springs with a pair of sumosprings to keep the rear from squatting. Hence the high PSI from the chalk test.

You're right, it did wear out the center and rode rough. The middle of the KO2s was at 4/32 at the worst tire, with the outside at 6/32. All tires were the same - about 2/32 more tread at the edge, with severe cupping on the inside. None of them had more than 6/32 at the center. My wife could IMMEDIATELY tell something was different from my new tires - she's like "why is the truck so smooth today, is something wrong?"

I don't think it helped that the 235/85 is 9" wide. That's 2" less wide than the size we're running now. I'm sure that didn't help, even though I was still nowhere near the weight rating for the tire. You can see how thin they are fairly well in this pic.

I haven't chalk tested the new 285/75s yet, but they put them at 35 and they're riding silky smooth.

You sound as heavy as I am.

I wonder if the issue was the size - or lack thereof. In that photo, those tires are skinny!

I hate that you decided not to run BFGs again - I really like mine. Good luck with your tires - I am sure you will like the 285 size.

Not a clue, I dont know a thing about suspension. I just want to get some clearance back that i lost. I was talking to Brad last time we went camping and he was telling me about his setup (Bilsteins iirc), so that may be something i look into? Ideally I'd like to ball out and get Kings but I dont think thats realistic, or necessary lol.

What OME springs do you have now? I'm guessing 885x since that is pretty much the DCSB w/no weight standard. Why not just upgrade to 886x (stiffer) or 887x (spring rate is same as 885, but spring is taller)?

It'll cost you under $200 and we can swap them pretty darn quickly. I'll estimate an hour, but add time for BS and beer and we're looking at more like 2 hours.

Kings and forget about it. Like driving on a cloud. You could relocate the rear shocks and it’ll be even better

Im honestly not sure what I have, which is half the problem. If i can upgrade what i currently have to give me back the .5-1" of clearance lost, that would be fantastic. As i said, I am not well versed in the suspension side of things on the tacoma's, i just havent had time to really dig into it.

If i do indeed have the 885x, upgrading to the 886x or 887x sounds like a great option, whichever will give me a bit of clearance back. What would i do in the rear, an add a leaf?

Donations?:spending: I would love Kings, but I'm not balling that hard right now. Maybe in a few years, I've only owned the truck for 6 months

Count the leafs on your Dakar leaf pack. If you've only got 6, you can install the OME AAL & get your rear height back. They're cheap, like cheaper than most other AAL's. Easy install, too.

It's OME's leaf pack. When you said you had OME suspension I may have made a premature ASSumption.

You can spot a factory leaf pack from a mile away, though. If you've only got one thick overload spring (or none at all) you're still running the factory leaf pack.

I’m in Marietta but nearly Roswell. There are some sketchy areas in Marietta and some that’s seem to be being improved. We want to downsize our house and there seems to Be a tight market for older, ranch type homes lots of folks out there buying and flipping.

    Good luck.

If you have OME shocks up front, chances are high that you have the 885. I'm not aware of any marking on them other than the sticker, which may or may not have held on. Only way to tell is to look. If comfort is what you want with that bumper, go 887. If you want it to feel more stiff, go 886.

You shouldn't have lost much height in the rear. The OEM bumper is steel and most aftermarket weigh close to the OEM. You might have a little more weight since it is HC, but I wouldn't think that would have much negative impact. AAL can be a temp stop-gap for the OEM leaf pack. From how I've seen you drive your truck, you want a full leaf pack. So either AAL to an aftermarket pack (like the Dakar) or get a new leaf pack. I would save the money on the AAL w/ OEM leaf springs. You'll upgrade that down the road and then have wasted the money on the AAL.

What kind of gas mileage are you getting? I'm down to around 16 with my current setup.

16 sounds about right. My speedo is off by a good bit and it's usually in mid-15s on the dash. Assuming I'm 10% off (probably closer to 15-20% off over stock), I'm solidly in the 16s.

Ill have to take a gander soon and see if i can't pull some numbers off of them. According to this post from the PO: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/question-about-fox-rear-shocks.390044/ it is a Wheelers AAL in the rear. Will both the 886 and 887 net the same height increase? I understand what youre saying and agree. What would something like the Dakar pack run me?

I dont think I did, however I wouldnt mind a little increase anyways. I forgot to mention that full skids have also been installed, so there is a little extra weight.

Trying to remember when/where you've seen how i drive my truck:mudding::rofl:
