All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
Didn’t realize they had a Summit model. I have only seen the Habitat.
Nice to see these new versions rolling out.

It does look like a Drifter with a side window.
My question is, does it leak into the bed of the truck? Lots of these still have issues with the connection to the bed.
I got to find one that stays dry towards the cab. I can fix the tailgate issues, just want something that will stay as dry as possible to avoid mildewing.

All Tacomas with a topper/tonneau/cover/camper will get water intrusion into the bed without proper prep. It’s a Toyota bed design flaw, not the make or model of the aftermarket product. The 3rd gen bed accentuates the design flaw.

What was the purpose of the front bed rail to drop an inch down again?

    No clue.

Honestly thats the easiest water entry point to eliminate. Its the front corners of the bed rails and underneath the plastic caps on the bed sides that can be the most difficult to mitigate.

I also just realized my Decked drawers won’t with any of these campers unless it it uses the tailgate.
@DECKEDUSA by chance have you guys been following which Tacoma campers work with your drawers? I know the GFC does.
Was looking at the Alu-Cab Canopy w/Camper.’but that has a single door on the rear and would not allow the drawers to work.

I also saw one of those Kimbo campers out there, saw it hit a bump and move around a lot more than I could be comfortable with if it was in my bed. They are ugly AF lol. It didn't even look like it took up the width of the bed on the bottom. Hard pass for me if I was in the market.

You need to find a totalled 4 runner that was wrecked in the front and cut the rear off and adapt the liftgate onto a camper top. Could be sick, could be fugly. Time will tell.

Don’t you have a 4runner that wants to become a FrankenCamper!

I can see it now..my girl comes home. I got a cutting wheel out on the rear hatch of her ‘06 and a liftgate sitting there. Lol

I do like where your heads at. Liftgate would be sweet for me shove my dirt bike in the back with me.
    Lol

Stack dimes with fast setting silicone and make it seal in the center of the bedrail.

It has the drop tailgate. I think the liftgate would be better for something like that.

Kind of ugly, but I like it.

    I also miss my 4Runner :(

Yeah the runner is nice. I am looking to get a roof rack for it next.
Do you recall what size tire your buddies white runner had on it. I have no interest in CMC on this one at all.
Eventually I will be adding a slight spacer to the fox coil over, and putting new tires on it.
It needs to spacer due to the winch, dual battery and hybrid slimline bumper now.
