    Same crap everyone else got
Another option: because you are using it on a camper top and not the cab, it doesn't need to have any specific lines to follow so the side s can be just straight pieces of 3in steel or aluminum flat plate stock that can be had for cheap.
cut to length, shape and round the corners. Drill your holes.
Then buy These. They come tapped on the ends.

    or these:

Make 90degree angled brackets and drill holes or buy these:

Some screws, washers, nuts. Use your landing pad hardware to mount and you can have a DIY rack built for around $300 in probably a day.
It's a bit more up front planning parts gathering but if you like the DIY route, then it would be a fun project.

Pretty good write up and he said he spent under $200:
    DIY prinsu style shell rack

You guys are just reinforcing my point. Outside of the cool factor, they aren't very useful here.

Now, if you were taking a trip like @rkam65 ....different story.

Another issue is the rotopax don't come standard with locks for them, its additional and they have problems with rusting.

Been thinking of doing something for water jerry cans which are the same dimensions as the fuel Jerrys. Was considering mounting the can racks to the bed rails so the bases of them sit on the wheel wells near the cab.

Normally I would only use them for water but now and then I might put a fuel one on to carry extra gas for four wheelers on hunting trips.

Don't put fuel in a water can! The metal water cans have a liner sprayed in to prevent rust - fuel can dissolve the liner.

Also, more importantly, is a safety issue. Fuel and water cans are different colors - while you may know what is in a container, someone else could grab a container based on it's color, and be in for a shock.

Also, to be legal on the road, fuel (gasoline) cans must have red on them. The can does not have to be red, but must at least have that red danger sticker on it.

Not putting fuel in water cans or water in fuel cans. Different cans with the same dimensions that can fit in the same carriers

    Good to hear.

I figured you knew not to, but wanted to be sure someone reading this thread didn't do something potentially dangerous.

My water cans are Scepters, and fit in the same racks as my fuel cans as well - very convenient.

I've had one of these bouncing around full of gas on the swingarm of my SOS Offroad Concepts HC Rear for a while now, it has held up well. I've refilled it maybe a dozen times. I have used it for lawn equipment more than the truck, but it is good to have in an emergency.

Link: Throw the spout immediately - it is garbage. You will get more gas on you than in the tank. I replaced it with one off Amazon for $8 or so, and it has been great since.

Not trying to sound like a complainer. But for some reason I don’t think my $37,000 truck With 3800 miles should have springs poking out of the driver seat already:annoyed:0AE33F93-0614-47F2-8254-93EAB5BB8114.jpgE8B53D8E-C6B2-417B-82E7-4C4B92ED1C00.jpg

Don't they sell the same fuel and water jugs the Military uses? 3 handles for fuel and 1 for water. Hell, it's been so long, I can't even remember.

These seats are the worst. My '00 cherokee seats were more comfortable. I feel like my drivers seat has a metal plate exposed I can feel with my lower back.

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
Holy hell, I have never seen so much chatter about a gas cans. Call me Steve,
I use gas cans everyday. I’ll drop some can knowledge on ya. Pros and cons for each.

Also Sean, take that Truck back to the dealer and say WTF?!

Yeah, that is unacceptable. I'd be back up at the dealership asap.
