Much love for the Carolinas here. Growing up where I did, we actually spent just as much if not more time in NC/SC as we did in GA.

Although I’m in the shit bag ATL metro area living now, my sentiment for those states is still much the same.

I know I am behind in the thread, but this should fix it.

I live just outside of Greenville but try to spend as much time as I can in the foothills or GA mountains.

Unfortunately I spend too much time in ATL as well due to Fiancee's brother and wife living there as well as their baby coming in February.

So, I was able to install my remote start kit from 12voltsolutions last night! So far so good, installation instructions could have been a little more thorough, but it was still pretty much a breeze. I went with this kit in particular because they are one if not the only company to offer a 100% plug and play remote start kit for these trucks. I also bought the smart phone module which gives me real time GPS tracking, combined with the ability to start/stop, and lock/unlock my truck from anywhere I have cell service. After the 15% discount they currently have, I got the kit + smart phone module shipped to me for $475 (normally $550 for everything). I highly recommend checking them out if this is something you've thought about!!

My only complaints so far are:

    1) Once the vehicle is remote started, it renders the OEM key fob useless, and you must use the provided fob or smart phone app to unlock the truck. OEM key fob still works if the vehicle has NOT already been remote started.

    2) When unlocking/locking the vehicle with the provided fob, you don't get the audible 'beep' as you would from the OEM key fob.

    3) When unlocking the vehicle, via the smart phone app, only the drivers side door unlocks, there is no way to unlock all doors remotely (that i know of). With the provided fob, you can unlock all the doors if you perform the unlock sequence (press the button on the fob twice) two times, waiting for confirmation from the 2 way remote that the first unlock was processed before performing the second unlock sequence.

    4) The real time GPS tracking doesn't display coordinates, just normal map views with street names(left out for obvious reasons in the image below). Not a huge issue, but coordinates would take out some guess work.

Marietta, no set time. But further into the mountains would be nice. We'll see.

Need to get out around here more and give it a chance, been around for 3 months or so and the only hiking I've done has been Yellowstone, Zion, Bryce.

Bummed that i missed the last camping one, but I'll keep an eye out for the next one. I've seen there are some kayakers as well, I only have an SUP right now, but plan on snagging a kayak.
