Cool, I guess they are mostly in the Chattahoochee national forest right? Are they just dirt roads or stuff you actually need 4x4 to do if its dry out.

Mostly its dirt, some are rocky (as in bumpy, not crawling) and some are slightly technical and/or require 4WD. If you stick to the main marked FS roads, you're fine in 2WD nearly all the time. If it has rained, or if you get onto unmarked roads, you may need 4WD.

A few weeks ago we took FS77 > FS55, so this week we went in on FS55 and then took 69 north. From there, we tried to find the swinging bridge that's off Hwy 60 by going west from FS69 on some unmarked roads. We found standing water of about 1' on the trail in a lot of places, and places with 6-8" of mud. So 2WD was fine all day, but we got pretty dirty (my wife insists we drive through every mud puddle we see).

Meanwhile, if you go to some place like Sheep Wallow, you're going to need 4WD and either a locker or some good driving/spotting in the dry, and probably dual lockers in the wet.

You should've hit FS 28a-28b that's old Bucktown and it's a good trail and then the jones creek rd is pretty good too! Sea creek is where we get a lot of creek shots and is a good little crawl to the top of the Mtn!

We have been to both. :) We don't mind riding trails we've been on when riding with a group, but when it's just us and the kids we tend to explore more. Sometimes we'll just be driving down a road and see a dirt turn off and decide to go follow it until it ends or comes out somewhere else.

Were you in your Taco when you were up here looking for the Swinging Bridge? I saw a good looking blue Taco a couple weeks ago riding around town.

We found one and followed it, but never found the bridge. Our little "trails less followed" map gave some directions we weren't able to follow. There ware a lot of people down there at the same time, all wandering around looking for it - however, it was raining and the kids didn't have rain jackets, so we just turned around and headed out.

Any recommendations for a shop to install a lift kit? I'm in the Sandy Springs/Buckhead area and work around Vinings. Most places I've called want to charge me $400+ more in parts than I can get them for online. (OME lift and Light Racing UCA's)

Allsouth is doing mine for $300 I think. It took me 8+ hours, a lift, several friends, and many swear words to get the same OME lift on my Xterra (well, new leaf pack instead of AAL), so it is money well spent to avoid any hassle.

I want some even though I don't really "need" it. My plan is to get light racing ones. What are you going to get if you do get them?

You're never too old for anything!

We where up there also this past weekend in the rain. We where all over looking for good fishing area's as trout season opened finally! Probably going back up next weekend to camp and fish. Those FS roads are a blast to explore on and some of the spurs can get a little interesting at times.

Yes they can, especially when they dead end with no turn around.

There were a lot of folks out fishing last week. We plan to camp next week on Tue-Wed since the kids are out for spring break and the crowds should hopefully be at the beach. :D
