We'd just need to set a date and I'll talk with @bryanbyers28 to see if we wanna host it. Then just bring any special tools you'll need and beer. We can always order pizza or pitch in for some steaks and grill out. But let's wait until my leg is good to go. I'd much rather be helping then watching

I'm gonna be down in the next couple weeks. Gonna need some help with my UCA install for sure and it's always nice to have some experienced folks helping with the lift, too. @BYJOSHCOOK, eat your damn Flintstone vitamins so that leg will heal!

Who here has dakars, so confused on what I need.
Thinking of getting the greasable shackles but wheelers says the leafs don't come with any bushings....

Also, if you're a 1st gen with a u bolt flip could ya tell me how long they are

I've got dakars, get the greasable shackles it's better to have them. Yeah you'll need to buy some bushings for them.

I've got the u-bolt flip as well but I'm not at my truck. Ask in the first gen thread they'll know

Gotcha, just started adding stuff to cart on lowrange offroad that would go along well with a rear suspension freshen up.... $230 :boom:

But on another note, guy offered me $600 for my old 17x9 wheels with 265s at 65% and one at like 20% tread. I paid around $1400 for it new, hard decision

For what it's worth- low range is super expensive compared to competitors. Even when they do group buys it's same price as their competitor normally is

If you can wait until Black Friday that's when the deals are. I got mine 20% off plus free shipping. So if you can wait I'd do that

Really? I compared some things to wheelers offroad and everything was cheaper at lowrange?
Like trail gear u bolt flip was $60 at lowrange and wheelers had one for $80

I'm not sure if I can, running stock leafs with lift shackles and stock shocks

Where or who can I get a CMC from done correctly with fill plates? Looking in the metro Atlanta area.
I think its about that time, since I've changed my directions in future tires.

May be able to order the full plates from somewhere and then ask the 4Runner group if somebody could cut it up and weld it back. Or don't weld anything back and just cut it with an angle grinder and be done :notsure:

is there a beneift to the fill plates, other than cosmetics? I know BAMF sells the fill plates. I'm always more willing to keep my money in the local economy, though.

    Strength.

The vertical part of the body mount adds considerable strength to the horizontal bushing mount surface. The CMC chop removes one vertical side, eliminating support, and (eventually) allowing the horizontal surface to move.

The fill plate, welded in, replaces the vertical part that was removed.

    You're welcome.

If you look at the body mount, you easily see what am saying.

Did you slide into a tree, Dan?

When I went through there, the trails were all pretty smooth, its just hilly, you can put yourself in some off-camber situations and articulation is helpful. I also went when it was pretty dry. I can imagine it gets slippery in the wet.
When I went through there were a group of guys in a stock Cherokee Trailhawk. They made it trough everything ok once I worked with them on locking the rear diff (the things have no flex, so they kept lifting wheels) and them bottoming out on approach and breakover angles.
It was a fun place to mess around and I camped somewhere back there (not sure if that was allowed...)

What Scott said, I just know Thomas bought the truck without filler plates and has been running it without them ever since. Mainly because he needs to chop it more but meh
