Did some riding on the forestry roads. Perfect weekend to see the fall colors.

Nice. We went to Black Rock Mountain State Park. A great day to enjoy the mountains.

We did the (extremely) short hike to Toccoa Falls on Sunday. Waited too late in the day and the kids were a nightmare on the drive home. I was very disappointed at how short the hike was. Couldn't have been a half mile round trip.

Went up to Helen yesterday. We planned to do some hiking, but ended up just walking around Helen and checking out some of the German shops. It was neat, but felt like a tourist trap.

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
Yup, you summed it up. Go back to Helen in about 30yrs, then you will enjoy it ;)

Any recommendations on trails to check out for a day trip? Thinking about getting out this Saturday, wanna find some technical stuff that’s not too far away.

Beasley Knob is about as technical as Georgia gets. Next closest is TN haha

I am missing the weather for sure...a/c in November doesn't really make sense.

Yeah Beasley is pretty nasty. Especially after it's been raining, you want a drought before going up there

Nimblewill, I live in Dahlonega so I ride the forestry roads pretty regularly.

I would not take on Beasley solo. I've only been there once, but its a rutted out mess. IMO, its worth driving the extra hour to Chocco, AOP, or morris mountain. You get way more trails than Beasley, and can still make a day trip out. There are plenty of dirt forestry roads in north Georgia, nice and scenic but nothing "technical."

Who wants to do a trail ride or camp next weekend, Nov 22-24?

I'm going to try to go hunting one of the days, and would like to do a trail ride / hike and possibly camp the other.

I will be up north for a pre-Thanksgiving vacation 11/23 - 11/26. If we're in the Taco I planned to do Tallulah River Rd., Charlie's Creek, & FSR163. We're still ironing out the itinerary so I'll know by the end of the week what the plan is.

I could be interested in doing those roads with you on the 23rd if that's what you're thinking.
