not trying to preach but less time spinning is better for the land. Meaning less roads get shut down by USFS

Look man, I guess you got your education off YouTube. I hope you can get up a hill without spinning, that’s the goal but it will never happen. In fact what are you doing? you’re trolling. Don’t do this, it’s not necessary.

Nope from past experience. You said that you didn’t need to lower tire pressure “ only for smoother ride” but I watched the YouTube videos. We all should know tire pressure is a tool in our toolbox to help us in a lot of situations.
Not trolling just trying to help the land so my Kids can drive on it one day. The YouTube video was just trying to find something easy.
If you don’t want to respect the land stick to bitumen. Please

    Let's not make this personal.

I thought about airing down. Truthfully, I would have preferred it. However, it was pouring down rain and the trail didn't really call for it. I was completely drenched by the time we finished. I didn't insist that we get out and air down because I didn't want to be cold and wet for the entire trail ride.

I didn't spin much going up that hill and I got up first try. I also assume that my truck weighs a lot less than @synaps3 . Dave was going a little slower and combine that with his weight, he struggled to get up. @Sprocket1505 is still on stock suspension and highway tires for now. As it was, I saw him hit his trailer hitch receiver several times. The weight of the RTT adding to the shortcomings of the OEM leafs. I don't think he really could have aired down much without getting hung up on the rear end. I'm pretty sure a lift and tires are in his future, so that won't be an issue going forward. @r0bn8or just climbed right up. Again, we assume the weight of his truck just didn't slow him down. He was also on highway tires.

You would think with that much tire spinning there would have been ruts, but there weren't. The only evidence that we had been through there was the absence of leaves in our tracks.

We were on the trail for 4 hours as a group. This was about the only place that we had to stop and evaluate things. We left no trash, we destroyed zero trees, and we were out enjoying nature.

Also, just to point it out, no one aired down on Charlie's Creek when we had a group earlier this year. We went through more mud puddles on that short ride than we did the entire 4 hours this past weekend.

Speaking of Charlie’s Creek... going to be taking off next Friday to hit that and one or two other roads near the Clayton/Hiawassee area with a good friend and TW member. Will head back to Hiawassee brew afterwards.

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
If I can break in my gears by then, that sounds like a good time. Just have to drive 50 miles at a time until I hit 500 lol

I was thinking about leaving this alone but apparently you are the all knowing 4x4 king
You are scared too get wet letting air out of the tires. But you’ll get wet shooting videos for instacrap and all the social media for likes instead of helping to take care of the land.
Look I love every one I’ve met on this forum I was just simply trying to help preserve land and your truck.
Also Charles’s creek was a whole different scenario. At the time we rode it we didn’t have any rain for 4 weeks prior.
As a matter of fact I only used 4x Two times on the rocks all the rest in 2wd. With zero wheel spin. The difference is the road is heavily traveled and gravel. So you are comparing apples to oranges. I was not trying to make anybody mad. I was just trying to help where and tear on the trucks but most importantly the land. Anyways I’m tired of kicking this.:deadhorse:
Btw I never said you damage trees or left trash behind. So I don’t know where that came from by the way.
Y’all have a great night and a wonderful Thanksgiving.
