Anyone offroading this weekend? I'm free all day Saturday and plan on riding in the AM and taking the boys swimming or tubing sometime in the afternoon.

I parked in a marshy wet ditch along the beach in SC on Saturday. It was a much needed vacation for me and my wife. Too bad I forgot to put on sunscreen :(

Truck performed admirably well :). I even asked the person handing out tickets if I was ok parked there. He looked at me and said that as long as I could visibly see white line between my tires and the road I was good. I could see the white line, so off we went!

Can anyone tell me what the forest service roads are like up near Warwoman Rd? I want to do some exploring and I'm trying to decide between taking the truck or motorcycle.

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!

Most are pretty well maintained, so definitely truck or even higher clearance (see Subaru) car friendly.

If you have a dual sport style bike I’d opt for that just for the fun factor.

Thanks! I should've posted sooner so I took the truck just in case it was muddy. I was debating taking the adventure bike (Africa Twin,) but I think I'll bring my lil 230cc dual sport with knobbies back there next time!

It was pretty fun up past Sarah's Creek campground. Definitely needed the 4WD back there. Like you said, the rest of what I was on was well-groomed. There's a lot of FS roads in that area I'm looking forward to checking out. Got any must-do's I should check out next time? It looks like there's a lot of roads south of where I was.

Glad to hear you enjoyed your time there. Lots of good falls to see in that area, but the majority aren’t found on any map. If you don’t mind some hiking there are gems all in that area. Most folks are too lazy to venture more than 10ft from the road :notsure:

    Found me a free kickstand.

Muck out of nowhere was like a giant vacuum. In there about an inch under the axles and same distance from top of my riding boots.

Glad I had some 550 cord to double up and a buddy with a UTV to yank me out. LOL

Ive only ridden it a couple of times, once with @Built2Ride (think it was Durham town) and once on random property a long way away. So there isn’t a normal yet. You ride too?

Sounds good! Yeah, I ride. I have an XR650L that I ride mostly in the woods with occasional time on the street. There are some pretty great trails where I live in Gwinnett. Not a ton to ride but fun for being so close to my house. Always down for places like Durhamtown, Highland Park, and ORV trails in North GA

I remember going to a place over in the Dacula area off 316 called flat rock to off road in highschool Pretty good spot and that had some pretty challenging stuff if you knew where to go.

I think I went there back in HS, too. Pretty sure that place is long gone. I ride in some trails off Stanley Rd. The entrance is directly across from the QT at 316 and Winder HWY (29). Great local spot for bikes and Jeeps.
