I'm probably going to bail. I started redoing my garage this past weekend and want to finish it.

Before (Drywall joints needed to be re-taped and there were multiple damaged areas)
    upload_2021-4-27_8-21-10.jpg

Now: 2/3 painted, new lighting and re-taped the joints:

That looks WAY better than when we dripped gear oil all over the garage floor. Nice work!

An epoxy floor would finish the look. :boink:

    I know you....and that's good enough.

Seriously though. I wouldn't trust anyone else to do it. The "professionals" are expensive and they cut corners. My in-laws paid someone to do theirs and I think they must have skipped steps cause it started flaking up rather quickly. I did ours in Texas and it was stupid easy and it didn't chip up at all while we were there.

Just follow the recommended steps to clean up any oil stains and do the etching solution. Then, roll it on when there is a couple of days where the temps are right. Unfortunately, you may have missed your spring window. I think the "ideal" temp is around 70*. I certainly wouldn't put it down when we are in the 90*+ range. If temps drop below freezing, which isn't a concern anymore at this time, the curing process just stops until the temp resumes. So I'd rather it be colder than hotter. In fact, we had a surprise cold snap when I did our TX garage. It just extended the cure time by a day. I gave it two just to be safe.

Oh, and don't get the "high gloss" as it will seemingly pull in light and blind you under the truck if the garage door is open. I'd get the least amount of gloss possible if/when I do it again.

Prepare for a major downgrade in scenery.

    That's not true.

The scenery is different, but has its own beauty.

I didn’t say the area lacked beauty. Try not to read into it too much.

    The implication is there.

Perhaps "major downgrade" was not the term you wanted to use.

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!

Thanks for yalls service. Hah yeah... Bout that. where you coming from? you do got some awesome mountain and beach scenery backgrounds. You Def won't see that in Columbus I get what Jonathan means I grew up with family in Columbus and phoniex city AL. It has its bonuses and youre pretty centrally located can be at a lot of diff places within a few hours. I've have friends stationed in a hell of a lot worse places, that's for sure.

Random outside cool shit I enjoy down in Columbus that I normally associate with mountains is they got white water rafting.

We go to lake Martin a couple times a year it's an amazing place with way less people than any lakes near Atlanta. Just on the other side of Auburn from you.

Also you will never have to shovel a driveway or buy an extra set of winter tires.

I appreciate it, as well as your tax dollars.

We are coming from El Paso Texas but I’ve been up and down the west coast and our last duty station was Maryland so I got somewhat of a feel for the east coast / south type wheelin.

With lockers and 37’s I have never needed a snow shovel except for this last snow trip where I almost flipped - see pic.

I’m just looking to make some new friends and see some cool places.
