It's kind of last minute, but I've got some extra tickets if anyone wants to go to the Braves game today. It isn't a camping trip, but would be nice to meet some of the folks I talk to everyday.

Does anyone know of a good area to camp in GA, the Carolinas, Tn, that's near waterfalls that you can play in?

Ya mind sharing with me? I’ve found a few on that lake but that one doesn’t look too familiar. TIA

Has anyone been to Sarah's creek recently? Last time I went up there was a gate pretty soon after turning onto walnut creek. I was wondering if it's back open? I have a spot I love to go off that road. You turn right there before that bridge.

Books up quickly but our favorite "family" campground is Davidson River Campground in Brevard, NC. We try to go at least once a year and plan on being there next weekend. A break from primitive sites but level roads for kids biking around, there is a good swimming hole and we bring tubes for some lazy river floating ( albeit pretty shallow ). Not for sure if the nearby sliding rock is back open yet but they even had lifeguards tending to the injuries. :bananadance:
Honestly we don't leave the campground much when we are there except maybe to head to the main road for some good grub or supplies. There is a guy at 35°16'52.0"N 82°41'44.6"W 35.281096, -82.695714 that you can buy wood from that has an honor box.

I would be interested in exploring that area more if anyone has some good spots of interest.

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
    I live in that area.

That area up HWY11 is some of the most beautiful country in the US. Also has more state parks in one area than any other place on the SE.
Make sure you go to lake jocasee (probably jacked up the spelling). Put some kayaks in up there!

Oh yeah! Dont spead that one to much though. I agree it's one of the most beautiful places on earth but I want it to stay that way. So it needs to stay a somewhat secret. Lol

I've been to Lake Jocassee. Beautiful, and not too many people.

I'd like to make another trip there - this time, with the kayak! ;)

    Same crap everyone else got
I was there about 2 years ago camping with kayaks. There are alot of little waterfalls you can see but they are pretty spread apart so if kayaking, you would probably only make it to 1-2 of them.

Oh I don’t know about that. Just need to wax the bottom of your boat is all. My expedition kayak is about 18’, composite and it literally cuts the water like a knife.
    I do wax it though.
