I last drove the whole thing in the fall. No pics but I imagine it hasn't changed much. A few good mud puddles and some slightly rocky spots on the main trail, not much else. There are some little spur trails near the bottom, most go to campsites that will probably be occupied though. I don't know where the brewery you plan to go to is, but if it makes sense I'd go up nimblewill and down old bucktown to get out instead of backtracking, or the opposite way (up OB, down nimblewill).

Hey guys. Heading down to Georgia in a couple weeks to take my pops fly fishing for the fish time. Have some river/creeks already picked out. Looking at Georgia Traverse Route. Are camping spots of FSRs in Georgia free? Anything I should be looking out for?

Oh yeah there is plenty of free camp spots. I'd recommend tallulah river rd for fly fishing. Plus you can camp out in that area. Chariles creek that everyone talks about is off of tallulah river as well. There is a spot I love to camp on the Chattanooga river (good fishing) in warwoman. Which there is wheeling to be done over there too.

Sweet. Yea, I was looking at roads near the Sandy Bottoms/Tate Branch Campgrounds and Wildcat Creek Campground. I’ll look into Warwoman. Thanks for the help!!

For what it’s worth, I did old bucktown road + nimblewill gap this past Sunday (west to east) and it was awesome.

Who's in to do Nimblewill Gap Road and then hit the Dahlonega brewery?

I'm open on Saturday of this weekend or next. Poll has been added to the thread.

Things are kinda fluid right now, but I'd love to do that next weekend. I won't know until it gets closer, though.

Alright, so who's in for this coming weekend? Most likely Saturday, Aug 28?

I actually ended up going up and checking out the brewery yesterday. We were gonna take the kids on a hike and it started raining, so we just went to the brewery instead. For those who don't like beer, they have ciders and mead as well.

Yes I know haha but I still need to flush the system and add Toyota coolant, then going wheeling the next day seems a bit too soon for it. If I'm in town for the next one I'll be there

Would definitely join if I wasn’t out of town through the end of the month. If Sept or October is open for exploring, wouldn’t mind doing a color run ending at a brewery.
