Which trails are y'all headed to? If you're going to hit any of the trails that are in the Dahlonega area, let me know as I may tag along!

Edit: Also, is Friday still the plan? Don't want to be a burden on anyone's plans!

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
I just had to help my neighbor out up here his well froze up good.

I started on mine at 6 this morning. I now have running water again! I'm stoked to have it fixed and not having to pay a professional. I'm sure it would have cost way more. Fingers crossed I won't have any other issues. Were you guys able to fix your neighbors?

Now "they" say it might rain on Friday again...

    So, who's in?

We need to pick a meeting place - I suggest 9:00 AM.

Pack a lunch - we'll find a scenic spot to stop and eat.

What does everyone use for comms? CB - Ham - GMRS I have a CB.

    Looking forward to this!

I'm in if y'all are planning on hitting any of the Dahlonega-area trails on your way over! Doubt I can make it to hurricane, but I'll be there for any of the closer trails!

Edit: Actually I think I'll be good for any/all of the trails within GA, got to go to work Saturday at 7:00 AM.

    Let's plan on Friday.

I believe most people normally meet at the rest area right before the trail entrance for Hurricane Creek: https://goo.gl/maps/qPSzryCtiDE3EX5z5

I'm about 3 hours from there, so if I leave the house at 9am, that puts me there around noon.

Another option that is a little closer is Big Frog Loop. I'm about an hour and 45 minutes from there. Starting point looks to be near here: https://goo.gl/maps/7H9aGzK3aepyQD7X6

Georgia Overland looks to provide a .kmz file for the big frog loop trail. https://www.georgiaoverland.com/blog/the-cohutta-and-big-frog-wilderness-loop

The link I posted with the kmz file says that it is 2wd friendly. You are allowed to vote on an option that allows you to go.

Has anyone on here done hurricane creek? If so about how long does that trail take? While I'm up there I want to hit buzzards roost overlook and max patch if that's where to group ride ends up being. I'm fine with getting there extra early and doing that alone if others don't want to.

I'm in for Big Frog Loop.

I'd like to run Hurricane, but a 6 hour round trip drive really eats into these short days.

You can get to buzzards pretty quickly from the end of Hurricane if you do it East to West (or do buzzards first) but the thing to pay attention to is rain/water levels. There is a pass to cut over to the buzzards roost area but if water levels are too high it is impassable

I’m referring to the Pigeon River Crossing

Thank you for the information! One of my favorite internet activities is looking at Google maps on satellite view. I know which roads you are talking about. If a group ride doesn't happen up there I may wait until warmer weather and plan a camping trip there to spend more time exploring.

Why don't we go on Thursday?

It is supposed to be 60*, and no rain.

EDIT: Friday is now out for me. Work. :(

I plan to go somewhere tomorrow, if anyone wants to join up.

Where are you thinking? I might head up to Winding Stair Gap on Friday before my shift @5:00 pm. I doubt I can do Big Frog Loop and get back early enough for work. Anyone interested? Just a quick trail.
