Again, tell me you never clicked on my original link, without telling me you never clicked on my original link.

I am not interested in Gaia’s camper. For the third time, I am interested in their standard non-cabover topper. I am not interested in alucab, GFC or any other wedge camper that has a lip over the cab. I figured the link was enough but I should have included photos. So that’s my bad.

That isn’t too bad, toss on some canvas walls would be like a Wildernest, they did a very short run of that style. Be a solution not to have a hi-rise topper for us that like to have a sleeping platform.

The $5K price isn’t terrible given the features and be a hell of a lot more durable than fiberglass. iirc something like a Leer or ARE hi-rise is close to $4K with windoors.

I was really interested in one of those wildernests or a flip-pac, but didn't really want to venture down the diy/repair path that seems to come with those older shells. i ended up with an alucab contour for weight savings, but looked into these gaia caps for a bit. im just curious how people like them and started reading this thread

I looked into these Gaia toppers for a bit. I loved the unique design and the modularity. I don't think any other company has the same features. The main issues I had were the canopy's weight at ~210lbs and the fact the company is so new. They don't have all the specs and info on their website for all of their products and I would think that support may be limited until they are a little further along.

For reference, the alucab contour without windows is around ~120lbs and the smartcap is ~180lbs.

I have had two Wildernests over the years. Love the design since it looked like a normal shell when closed. But yeah to restore one it can be spendy, canvas is $2200.

Repairing the fiberglass is a chore, most of the internal wood structure is rotted. Wish someone would make an aluminum version of it that flipped to the side. The thing I loved the most about it is how much room there is when opened. Don’t have to move bedding around to have the whole truck bed open. One person can be in bed while the other is making coffee in the morning.
