Yeah that’s good at least. Truck is shitting on me lately.

I called Toyota to see if they will replace my driveline under a TSB they said it will be $160 inspection and they won’t replace it anyways because my shit ain’t stock. And the vibes are probably from the lift. So Napa and Drivelines NW it is.

Eh they replaced my leaf springs with a lift and did my LCAs with the bumper and sliders. Each of those surprised me. Though if you cannot get the inspection fee waived thats hurting; that is almost always waived so far but I think I have been lucky. (Toyota of Bellevue).

The result of dealership looking at the remaining squeak I mentioned was the lower bushing of my front struts getting dirt in them and starting to go out. They said its good to go besides squeaking so hopefully squeakers isnt going to be too much or a liability.

I think they’ll be fine for another run. Anyone think otherwise?

ya you'll be good. I just replaced those and although they made noise they weren't going to fall apart. All the teflon was gone for at least year but would still not fail as far as I could see.

Take the serpentine belt off, if you can spin the AC compressor pulley by hand, it's probably the magnetic
I haven't gone in for the driveline campaign/recall, nor have I received a letter about it, but it sounds like you didn't use the key words noted in the TSB/ESC, IE:"vibration" "noise" "30-45mph" "shudder" blah blah blah. Never leave it up to them to decide if it's a factory defect or cause/effect of your mods. Service writers are a PITA and are often told to play ignorant to such things or truely uninformed about corporate remedies. From my experience they aren't even aware of TSB's under recall/warranty or even extended service campaigns. Note: there's a difference between a recall and a TSB. They will perform TSB's free under warranty, but outside that, it's on your dime.

I may have missed the boat on my frame recall, as I feel the dealer that inspected my frame for the recall just pushed me through for compliance since dealer would rather collect hrly rate over Corp recall/tab/ESC rate. I've heard of maybe 5 at the most frames being replaced on 2nd gen 2005-2010 tacomas here in WA. Hell, Lake City Toyota was giving away a 2010 ACLB frame for free that they got stuck with when a customers truck was totaled by insurance before the frame replacement took place. I was 30min away from picking up a new frame. I digress, now that I've welded sliders to my frame I've forfeited a remedy, since thats considered a modification outside factory control and they'll just turn around and point the finger at me for the rusty frame due to aftermarket welding. I originally had my frame inspected a week before my sliders where installed and they gave it a passing grade. Didn't even require/mention the undercoating that's recommended as a deterrent to the common rust issues on early 2nd gens.

Albeit, my frame isn't rotten, just heavy surface rust IMO. My truck is a lifetime PNW truck, so it has seen minimal salt exposure. It would have been nice to get a new frame, since I strongly think my LCA mounts are damaged/fatigued which leaves me with shitty alignment results. :notsure:

Same goes for the gas pedal recall, apparently since I didn't have the all weather floor mats when inspected, they didn't need to perform the pedal chop.

Regarding your AC situation, remove the serpentine belt and see if the AC compressor pulley turns freely. If so, it may be your magnetic clutch that is bad. If it feels rough or you can hear bad noises, I would lean towards the compressor being shithoused. Which btw, I happen to have a spare compressor you can have for troubleshooting/diagnosis sake. If you happen to end up at @jdams house I will gladly give it to you. I only paid $13,500 for the compressor, but I got the truck for free :rimshot:. I just bought a new AC clutch for $75 on eBay, which will hopefully fix the lack of AC I haven't had since I bought the truck almost 4yrs ago.

I even had to take a breath after that one!

@JDAM and I are having a shop day here soon. Just collecting the parts now. How did you end up with a spare AC comp?

I am packing the truck. But yeah pretty unclear. We will see. I dont have CB yet; just some cheaper walkie talkies for runs with smaller groups. Shouldnt be too bad on this trail though.

It came with my truck when I bought it. Previous owner thought the compressor was bad, but it was just the magnetic clutch.

    Good times meeting everyone!

I have some photos and the videos of the hill run. I got some errands to run today but Ill try to get them posted up tonight.

Looking forward to the next run.

By then hopefully some bigger/fresher tires. Wasnt a huge problem but wouldve been better with a little more clearance and traction.
